I bought my HD player and my PS3 at the same time. Now I am going to stick with the blu ray format. Perhaps if this sells, I can pick up some of the movies that I am selling here in blu ray, like Pitch Black, Dune, King Kong, Beowulf etc.

There is still a lot of playability with the HD, I have just finally sided.

Im so out of the loop in tech world that i didnt even know what blu ray was till my friend put one on last year and it looked lik the actor were in the same room as us.

That was all i needed to know about what i will buy when i finally decide to jump in ( probably be on HDTV/purple ray/Ultra view by then though) to tech land.

Good luck.

Thanks man, it was my first step into the furry of high tech. I to was AMAZED at the picture quality. One movie I hate letting go is King Kong (which I will re-purchase for sure someday)... now THAT movie was made for HD/Blu-Ray (same thing) !!! OMG, the landscapes and everything being CGI and all was truly amazing. In fact, it was not until you got to the close ups of the human actors that you might have though 'hey that doesn't look so good' hehehe

There are some truly great quality high def movies out there......

I am willing to wiggle a bit on the price as well with this one as I already made space for it, hehehe... it's hardly been used and is actually my second HD player, I bought the first one, then got my blu ray but then figured out that there were a few movies (movie companies) that were NOT going to HD. With the first HD player, I sent off for five free HD movies but ended returning the player, then weeks later my HDs showed up, AFTER I had bought my PS3 (where I sent away and got 5 free blue rays) AND my second HD player (where I sent away for another 5 HD movies)... totally crazy, I sent my blu ray and HD free movie offers out weeks apart but they came in the SAME DAY. I was in high def heaven (or what I like to call 1080p heaven) !!!

Now I am just thinking to pass on a lightly used system with some killer movies. Even if you didn't include the player/remote, the price (with the free shipping) is only $4.50 a movie. Dune and Blade Runner are STUNNING as well as King Kong and the Chronicles of Riddick. I never read any John Constantine Hellblazer books but the movie sure was good (from a non-comic readers stand point) I am not sure how closely the movie followed the books but it was damned good... get it ? 'damned good' ? LOL

But it has me thinking to pick up the first few Hellblazer TPBs...

Question: I am sure that Hellblazer is, lets say controversial in regards to religion (although in the MANY extras, the latter writer said that it was doing a parody of the Reagan/Thatcher politics at the time), so as a trying really hard to be a decent Christian, would I be offended ?

That is probably an oxymoron for some of you in regards to me... I am pretty crass on the board. I guess 20 years in the Army will give you a bit of.... character. But, I have been going to church for two and a half years now and was baptized over a year ago. I am really trying to 'walk the path with the Lord' but I know that I stumble, only to be picked up. Seeing as how I am the way that I am, I hope that God is looking at me and saying, "Hmmmm, that Knightt guy, sure does push the envelope sometimes... but when the big battle plays out, I am gonna need him for some special ops missions, so we're going to keep him around." I really believe that.

I know that I have some Christian brothers on the boards and we have talked... and it is sure nice to be able to speak of such things as religion with them. I've had this serious hang-up (that I am 98% over) about whether or not I will make it to Heaven... I mean given all the things I've done/had to do during my 12 years in spec ops. I realize that Soldiers do what they have to do... but there was a time when I ENJOYED it and wanted that 'high' for the longest time. My wife used to call me a combat junkie and maybe I was, but it was the best feeling that I have experienced (not including getting married, watching my children being born, giving EACH AND EVERY ONE their first bath, watching them grow and do new things and last but not least, finding the woman of my dreams who was my best friend first, then my lover and then my wife. I am serious, I am WAY outta my league with my wife, Shannon... she is a knock out, the BEST person I have EVER met, a great mother and I love it that she prescribes to something that some women of old used to tell their daughters... 'to keep your man happy, you have to be a chef in the kitchen and a *SQUEE* in bed'. And I do NOT mean ANY disrespect in that AT ALL but it is just a saying and if you look at it, read it... well it makes sense, at least to me. My gal is the best thing that ever happened to me and if it was not for her, I am sure I would be bits of blasted and charred flesh and bones as I was on a death wish and thought I was invincible. I could see myself RIGHT NOW off in some country like Afghanistan doing stuff that is best left to the younger guys.

I recently got a new job (I will post about it later in its own thread) which moved me up on the corporate ladder, a huge increase in responsibility and pay, nice office, secretary whole nine yards (which has truly been a blessing from above, especially during these very hard and trying economic times) but I was about two hours away from taking another very high paying job in Afghanistan with SOCOM, where the ONLY thing that was described in the job was, "Would you have a problem identifying a target (i.e. person) from their remains or what is left of their remains ?" I thought holy crap, YEAH I can do that... the rest of the job to include the location would be given to me once I arrived in country. The job interview was one whole day and the psych eval (which I got through :o hehehe) was two friggin days long. Classic try to rattle you questions... 'Mr. Scott do you masturbate ?" to which I kinda smiled and said, 'Can you be more specific ? I mean are we talking daily, weekly or monthly ?' hehehe with those things you just gotta roll with it and even toss them a bone to chew on every once in a while... yet I passed. It was for A LOT of money (WELL over $200,000 a year with four large bonuses and two trips back to the states, ya know... to take care of bidness, boo yaa) but the job with Northrop Grumman came through (now THERE was a hard time even getting through the VERY detailed background check and I ALREADY have a TS clearance) and I ended up taking it for the pay, TOTAL change in career, and the position. Hell, Northrop even has their own retirement program, once you are vested (3 years in), you will draw a pension at the age of 67. I don't think that you find that very often in businesses today. And not to be evil or anything but all the top guys are pretty old, I figure they have to retire soon or might even kick the bucket. Now my project manager Vince is about 118 years old but I am sure he has another 20 years in him. Surprisingly spry, walks fast as $hit and has the whole 'systems program' all stored in his head. An incredible man, really... oh and he throws out f-bombs like crazy. I even remember him using the C-Word for one of our female recruiters up at corporate. I just laughed my *SQUEE* off. I start on Tuesday, will probably get indoctrinated into the company on that day and then I am off to some big wig conference Wed-Fri. It should give them time to set up my computer in my office... hehehe

OK enough about me... the HD player is a really great way to get started in high def television and the remaining movies on the market right now are pretty cheap but what irks me is that there are STILL movies on HD that have not made it to blu ray. But all in due time.

I am basically needing the $$$ to pay for an order through mycomicshop.com Yep, went a little crazy one night but damn it is nice to do one stop shopping. Yes, a little hunting on Ebay would yield the same results but I just didn't want the hassle, besides I just found out that I was missing the last issues of Justice Machine, Dreadstar and Hero Alliance. I can't believe that I've been going on all this time not knowing that I was missing the last issues of those runs. Gotta say, my collection in those books, all of the issues are CHERRY, just like my Crossgen and some Rogue Trooper.

Boo yaa.... it's great chattin' it up with ya, my friend Draco. I really like all you guys over in the UK. I've gotten to know Phantom pretty well.
