Going Rate

Post by xodacia81 »

So, what seems to be the going rate for a full reading set-variants not included-of VH1, these days? There's a reason I'm asking this. I have a few #'s I've put together but I want to get more info and see if I'm calculating to the "mean average".

Yeah, that's about the average I had figured. Give or take a little here and there for "condition". Thanks for the reply. And here it is, gang...after very long debate, I am considering-not certain, but considering-selling my reading set of Valiant. If so, I will also be doing the same with whatever Acclaim I have, as well. I'll keep doubles, if I have them. However, things have become extremly tight of late. This is not an offer, yet, but rather an exploratory excursion. I wanted to get the opinion of the board-and I contuinue to welcome any input-as well as to give you guys not only a heads up but, if I do sell the books, to give you guys first dibs before I consider putting it up on E-BAY. I won't know for sure what I'll be doing in connection with this for a while, but if I do sell it, I will know within the next few weeks. I'd really rather not sell the books. But, if I must, then I must. Thanks gang.

Well you have to do what you have to do dude.
If you are putting it up i think you will get a sale on ebay as there have been a few in the last year or so.

Even with the recession etc, you should still hit $500.

All the key books and last issues etc may bring that anyway and im sure there are a fair few people who are aware of that, be they members here or just damn smart chaps.

The one concern I have is that the lack of all the variants/incentives (I do have a goodly majority of those) might make it unnatractive to some people, even though I'd be selling it as "just" a reading set, meaning it has every regular issue. I do indeed have all the Pre-Unity and final books, and all in excellent condition, too. This is just something which I took a lot of time, pride and enjoyment in and I hate to let it go so soon after finishing it up. Still, I am looking for other ways of making ends meet than to sell THESE books, because they do hold a special place for me. Still, one must do what one must.

Maybe you could sell some multiples of the Variants/incetives in auction alongside the main one if you have some.

i dont think not putting them in for $500ish would be bad at all.
Anyone who knows their stuff would not expect extras, so any interest will be educated.

I'm thinking that in cases where I have 3 or more of something, I might, if I do sell the set, get the extras CGC'd and sell them.

Thanks. It's just gonna take some thought, but I'm hopefull I won't have to go through with it. If I do, I'm gonna need some pointers on the whole "shipping costs" thing. I've never done that in bulk before.

As long as the buyer is not international you will be fine

We can post 25 kilos here for 8.00gbp using an ebay link to parcel2go.com.

Very handy on the bulk boxes we sell of 250 comics.

Sorry to hear about your circumstances. Too many of our bro's are having to part with treasures. I don't like this. :(

I'm hoping some of my other stuff sells, starting with the coins I have. I never wanted it to come to this, but between ZERO job prospects this summer and no sign of payment of any sort until the end of the summer, I have to make things work one way or the other. And, speaking to the not adding, I think that once the "Great Fables Crossover" concludes, I will have to seriously re-think picking those titles up monthly, even though it's only Fables/Jack of Fables. In these times, every dollar really counts.

The ones I just sold today. I was able to make things stretch. I still might sell the books, but I don't have to live like Bob Cratchit for the next 6 weeks.
