Rob liefields New mutants Wanted.
Ok, Ok ,OK. yeh Yeh Yeh rub it in. But their is a story ~ that mybe should go into 'your valiant story' but maybe not..
I am big into the Phantom, and as a kid. Collected only Phantom. I found a shop ~ a comic book shop, I didn't even know these shops exsisted ~ after what 4 years of reading phantom and getting them from the newsagents in Australia.
Anyhow i was amazed! A whole shop FULL of comics. I ended up getting a job their latter in life, and the owner was an artist for the Phantom Glenn Ford!
ANYWAY ~ I visited quite alot ~ still only getting Phantoms. The selection of comics wwas very confusing ~ and me being shy. Finally I got the courage to ask about the comics. I said I liked the phantom, but want more charactors in the comic that are specail (that was my word for superheroes). I wanted black and white, and something just about to start or starting as their was no way I could collect all of the Phantoms .
After showing me a few ~ this guy said new mutants! was about to restart in 6 months? as x force. BUT it was colour. I brought a issue and a 'back issue'. And thats what got me into ameriacan comics and into valiant!
I am about to start binding my collection of comics. Were better to start than New Mutants. However I gave away all the new mutants comics I owned when I left Australia 11 years ago.
Was wondering if anyone could put together a set of Robs work in new mutants. I had went as far back as 72? But I think the first issue I got was 96 and the back issue 95 death of the robort charactor and a crossover ~ which I had never heard of before.
I remember I had the second print of the first cable issue, but I had the blue version of 100 issue. Which would be cool to own. As the 100 issue in blue was the one everyone was after and I had a copy.
So I am asking for 87? to 100 of new mutants. I know Deadpool is mega famous now, and the light shines out of his butt, but if their is a second print that is cool.
these comics will be bound into my first hardcover (made by myself) so condition is not important. I have the x force run, well a few ~ then I dropped marvel and got valiant
and DC (which latter become vertego tittles).

It was his first issue and his first cover was 85.Zaphod wrote:I am pretty sure RL's first New Mutants was 86. It dealt with the MLF kidnapping Rusty and Skids and featured the Vulture. I think there might even have been a 1st cameo of Cable (in shadow) involved but its been awhile since I checked.
Cable is merely in a next issue box on the last page and not in any cameo.
Boy did that book (86) get oversold as cable cameo.
Nasty.

I trade as Dead Universe Comics in the UK, which is no surprise to those who know of my legendary Dead Universe habit.

Mutant Liberation Front. Had nothing to do with Mystique, this was Stryfe's team of misfits (who woefully underperformed)Chiclo wrote:An MLF appearance in the New Mutants...Zaphod wrote:I am pretty sure RL's first New Mutants was 86. I was making a bad joke involving a possible double meaning with Mom i'd Like to *SQUEE*.
