I know there was a topic about this item last week - evidently the buyer, upon discovering that the art was for the card rather than the book, backed out...

As you can tell by my avatar, that's one of my favorites covers of all time. Dunno why... it's just so evocative of the whole superhero dichotomy thing, I guess. Oh well, we'll see how much it goes for this time!

Should go for much more than 100, i think people will be afraid to bid up a piece that could very well be from the card or worse.

Still...it was probably one of the best covers of the VH1 era. Course Magnus #2 is awesome also.....

Well, I was in there at $301, but the guy who won it got it at $306 with 2 seconds left to bid. Hey, good for him! Now I've got more money to spend on comics!

Does anyone know if BWS sold the original cover artwork?

Man, sorry I missed this Hillman. My buy price was a little higher than the $306 it went for. I was sure that piece would stand on its own, card or cover.

It's a good sale!

Yeah, I wish I'd gotten it... but, c'est la vie. Maybe it crop up again someday...
