Can someone fill me in on Unity 2000?

I have read all of pre Unity, about 90% of post Unity up to Chaos Effect, practically nothing after and practically no Acclaim.

Today I picked up Unity 2000 1 and 2 in a 50 cent bin out of curiosity. I haven't read them yet but I did read the editor's page in the back of #2 and it is easily the most bat$hit crazy thing I've read in a comics page, crazy that it covered two full color pages. What is the deal?

Any other threads someone can link me to devoted to this or a history someone can give me, obviously I am pretty oblivious to the final days.

I'm sure you know that the books ended at #3 even though there were supposed to be six.

Here's the plot for all six... I believe someday we may have the full story. :hope:

Btw, for 50 cents, those were nice pickups :thumb:

Some on here hated this story, but I found the Magnus / X-O battle in # 3 to be pretty cool.

It is Fanboy. Last I heard he was rebuffed by Random House, I think.

They weren't in great condition. No major damage, but corner edges were a little roughed up and the spine had some creases.

I'm no expert grader but I'd guess it would be enough to drop down the value a bit. I'm more of a reader than collector anyway.

It's pretty hard to find any of the later Acclaim books in great shape.

Probably due to them sitting in boxes while every Manny, Moe, and Jack fingers their way past them. All the later VALIANT stuff in my area is this way, and the Ack-lame stuff was only bagged (no boards) in one store, and they all have a case of the slumps.

Sometimes that's the case for early Valiants too. Just check out this "beat up" Magnus 8 . . . . at least the coupon is in perfect shape.

His selling reputation is not exactly stellar around here, so that's no big surprise.

True dat - he's not quite VikesComics, but he's definitely well-known in this circle.

They are currently being colored and lettered for distribution as three separate PDFs (one for each issue).
