IMO, the best 5 monthly DC books in 2008 were the following:

GL
GLC
All Star Superman
Teen Titans

Fables
Ex Machina (Wildstorm is DC)
DMZ

That's all that's great from DC for me and that's all I read. I bet I'll put GL up there when I read the Sinestro War HC I just picked up for half off.

For me the five best ongoings were:

Justice Society of America
Blue Beetle
Secret Six
Booster Gold
Justice League of America

If I were to include finite/limited series I would add:
All-Star Superman (never really monthly), bumping JLoA.

And, on behalf of my 5 year old...

Billy Batson & The Magic Of Shazam
Tiny Titans
DC Superfriends
Supergirl (the all ages, not the main DCU title)

...he doesn't yet have a fifth (Sonic The Hedgehog doesn't count towards DC), but I'm guessing the DCU Elementary book will likely take that slot... ;)

Final Crisis is just way too confusing, and I've read just about every issue and tie-in they have for it.

Word for word, his writing is fine. However, when he puts the words together in a story, I have no clue what the hell the story is about. :P
Jay Tomio wrote:I've never had difficulty following once going, on. Indeed the point of a mystery is exactly that. That's just me.
I didn't read the Crisis stuff, but RIP was not good for me. I like mysteries too, but I need to be able to tell what the heck is even happening in the panels. To that end, the art did not help in RIP.

Acid would help when reading this stuff. That's for sure.

I don't usually buy monthly new books (Cost Prohibitive), but was able to snag at my LCS a bunch of the current JSA series(Gog Storyline) and the Current GL & GLC for a $1 a piece and man I'm tempted to get back into monthly titles again by these books. Really good stuff IMHO :thumb:

Possible Spoiler Alert Although I'm sure They're old Questions

Quick question and maybe a spoiler alert also but when were Kilowog and most of the current GLC brought back to life and how? I'm either just fogetting when this happened (I Remember Hal Jordan Killing Kiliwog) or didn't read when they were brought back. How and what issues did Superman from Kingdom Come Earth come into JSA Earth along with Gog?

Kilowog and the rest of the Corps were brought back in GL: Rebirth.

KC Superman came back about six or seven issues ago in JSA.

Should I read that before I read Sinestro Corps Wars? I'm just checking out GL, but I did buy the Rebirth books a while back (didn't read them).
