Where do you get your bags and boards?

Post by k_c_collectibles »

Hey guys,

I am looking for an inexpensive source for bags and boards. I have been getting my bags from The Comic Zone on ebay for $58.95 for 2,000 modern bags shipped (about $.029 a bag). They are nice bags - acid free and 2.4 mil thick.

Does anyone have a supplier with better pricing? I usually go through around 1,000 and 2,000 a month so any savings on a quality product would be nice.

Also, I get boards from the same place for $72.50 per thousand ($.0725 a board) for nice 24 point thick boards. Again on these - does anyone have a supplier with better pricing for good, quality modern size boards?

Thanks guys - any help is greatly appreciated! :thumb:

My source

Can't remember if it was on here or on another board I told people about my source, www.hotflips.com.
Wherever it was, some other people ordered from them and compained about the cost of shipping. So I will say at the beginning that they are in New Jersey, and charge exact shipping fees to your house. Comic supplies are heavy, so this eats into the great price.

All that being said, in December I ordered 2000 silver bags @$16/1000,
2000 silver boards @$33/1000, and 20 short boxes @$1.60 a piece. Final bill shipped to Mississippi was $194 dollars ( what you paid for bags and boards alone, not sure if that included shipping or not). Bigger quantities are even cheaper per unit.

I am a firm believer in them because they have a great attitude if they screw up. My last order they sent 20 long boxes instead of short ones. The "man-cave" is designed for short boxes, so I called 'em and told them the boxes were useless to me, and please send me the short ones and instruct me how to send the others back. They said it was cheaper for me to just keep the long ones, and sent the short ones out that day.

People like that will keep my business!

I wouldnt order from hotflips if you paid me and then also paid for my order. I think that their stuff is crap and they pack like crap. I ordered a couple hundred bags and boards and maybe 10 short boxes from them...well I get a badly beat up box with basically bags and boards just dumped in it..I sent several emails and got no reply. I think that someone else on here had the same problem and that x-0matic just canceled his order...go with bagsunlimited or somewhere like that.. Anyway that is my piece...I dont like their product and I didnt like thir service... :thumb:

Yea, now I remember it was on here. Like anything else else I guess, different people have different experiences. Been dealing with 'em for probably 12 years or so and never had anything damaged or an order that was messed up that wasn't corrected immediately.

Let's put the torches, tar, and feathers away. I won't mention them again!
