Someone asked in a thread from the spring/summer about GI Joes. This is just a SMALL sample of my GI Joe collection. Enjoy!

Here are my Straight Arm MOC GI Joes: Short Fuse, Zap, Scarlet, and Flash.

(Pardon the Snow Serpent and 2002 MC convention set.) Note the price on the Zap. That was the price in 2002. HA! good luck getting that now.

Here are my Master Collector 3 3/4" Convention Sets: 2002, 2004-2006, 2008.

And some GI Joe CGC comics. One is a 9.8, the rest are 9.6.

Id love to eventually build a vf reader run of that Joe series someday! Still workin' on my Transformers and Indiana Jones though. Nice stuff!

I found some very small carded gi joe 25 th anniversity figures are they rare or just not easy to find ?

Do the boxes for the carded figures help keep the 'card' flat ? (seeing the first pic with a curved card)

The ones in the plastic containers help keep them flat and protect them. The card is clamped down so there can be no "shaken card syndrome".

The curved card came like that. Not sure I want to put him in a container and re-bend the card back (ie damage it again/more).

Supes, are these what you have?

These are re-cards of old stock. The figures have a 2004 copyright on their feet and were re-released this year. The cards have 2008 as their copyright. (I cleaned out a KB Toys recently...)

I may have to look into those. I am planning on getting a couple of the vintage Star Wars figures on card (just one or two) and putting them in a holder like that.

I trust that it helps 'preserve' the figure ? Airtight or close to it ?

Action figures are WAY outta my league and area of expertise.

OH hey, another quick question... I have just about all of the vintage SW figures loose, not on the cards with their weapon. I have them in sealable 'snack bag' with their weapon and a sticker as to which figure it is. Is this ok to store them this way or is there a better way ? (space is a consideration)

i've got one! it's not complete, but it's 1/2 a long box. probably missing about 50 issues.

that flash you have (knightt) was the first joe i ever bought, along with snake eyes when those first came out. those two were my favorites!

did you get the send away doc figure?

i inteded to, when i bought some stuff for my boys, but the offer had expired.

I had my star wars in baggies like that, I think its starts to cause the figures to yellow or so it seemed to me.

No. Didn't "Rescue Doc".. the 25th figures don't do it for me.
They just look weird with that joint in the middle of their chest.

I use the snack sized bags too for my GI Joes. I need to dig them out and look at them because they have been in those bags for about 10 years. Storm Shadow was going yellow before I put him into one. Look for a report on how they've held up in the Zip-Lock snack bags.

As for the cases, they are darn near air tight. Not going to dip one in water to test it out. They do the job though.

ok... had to get some help to dig them out and luckily I'm at my folks' house where they're stored.

Storm Shadow, Snow Serpent, Cutter, Ace, and Snow Job. They were all made between 1984 and 1986. The rifle at the top and the spikes on right are for the 12" Joes. Those were made in 1994. (You can see some yellowing of the rifle.

)

These have all been in various Zip-Lock sandwich bags since about 1998. Stored in a cool dark place, without sun and without artificial light.

Snow Job was MUCH whiter BEFORE he went into the baggie. Guess he got a non-name brand. Time to move him into a good bag.

I probably posted this here before considering our off and on Joe discussions, but here's how I store my Joes. I found actual action figure bags that zip seal along the top (rather than the side) & are big enough to hold the figure and also the clipped file card as a sort of backerboard along with it. Then they go lined up in one of the acrylic cases as pictured.

they work good for small transformers

on a side note gregs comics uses comic bags and the figures are protected pretty well that might work for ya as well

No, the top loading zip locks that I pictured above are heavier than the side slide sandwhich bags, and they might be non-acidic or whatnot.

You'd have to feel them, but I'd try to find actual figure bags either at a hobby shop or just search for them on eBay. Once you get them you'll feel the difference, and they are probably more likely to keep your figs from yellowing than the food bags.
