Does that "free shipping" include a bj? Because for that price, it really should.BloodOfHeroes wrote:Eternal Warrior #1, signed by Jim Shooter
The Seller wrote:Don't get hung on shipping. Buy from me and get it FREE
And Issue #2, also signed by Shooter, is available for the same BIN price!

My own Auction ! hahahahahahahaha
So we had a pile of random DC books sitting there gathering dust and decided to not add them to the Web stock and instead quickly bung them on ebay for 10p each and see what happens.
There isnt much worht anything so it was a quick fix to being rid of another growing stack of less than average and some average books.
They went up an hour or so ago.
This happened.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... AQ:GB:1123
So Drift made a booboo and then he tried to correct it but removed the wrong one and then i got this message.
"In just want to know which comic your selling. It says that its Formerly Known as the Justice League #4. But its got a booster gold picture and it says that that the item bidding for is an Aquaman one. Which is it?"
Fair question.
Which one is it Drift.
Pure Genius and recordbreaking feat achived in one auction.
Not one, not two, but three errors are or is it just two?
Im too confused myself.

Classic.
Would any of you buy from this guy?
However, it's a copout when used online, and it generally means "you can't hold me to my grading because I'm going to pretend I don't know what 'near mint' means."
If a book goes from 8.5 to 9.0, or even 9.2....that's where the subjectivity comes in.
You won't see a 4.5 graded a 9.6, and you won't see a 9.0 graded a 9.6 on resub. You MIGHT see a 9.6 graded a 9.4, or a 9.8, depending on which way it leaned to begin with. But you're not going to have wild, vast swings in grade.
Sorry, charlie.
"no returns, so please ask all questions prior to bidding."
Ok, fair enough....
......
....HE GETS UPSET THAT PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY ASKING QUESTIONS!
In other words "shut up and bid, suckah!"
Is it REALLY a good idea to insult your potential customers by calling them "overly picky"....?
Isn't it the RIGHT of a buyer to be as picky as he or she wants to be?
No, the reality isn't "overly picky"...it's "making sure I'm getting my money's worth"....or "how not to overpay for this particular copy."
As far as "getting books back that really missed the grade"....I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts those books came back LOWER....not HIGHER...than the seller thought they would, eh?
Anybody wanna take that bet?
If it gets lost....the SELLER is responsible.
But then he tells you he's not, and says to "be aware of that when leaving star ratings in feedback."
Why these sellers cannot seem to get it through their thick heads that the USPS is accountable to THEM, as their contracted carrier, I do not know. I don't know where people got this idea that you wave bye bye at the post office...whose service you pay for...and hope for the best.
(yes, that's a rhetorical statement.)
What sellers need to do is PROTECT THEMSELVES. REQUIRE insurance on large dollar amounts. Don't LET the USPS off the hook if they "lose" something. After all....the seller paid them....they work for the seller, not the buyer.

If by "professional" we mean people who are paid to do it, there are very, very few professonial graders out there.I am by no means a professional grader.
However, it's a copout when used online, and it generally means "you can't hold me to my grading because I'm going to pretend I don't know what 'near mint' means."
Define "leeway"....I use the Overstreet guidelines and other books I have received from reputable sellers as a reference for my grading. I have graded this book to the best of my abilities. Please allow some leeway between my assumption of grade and your assumption of grade.
PGX is a joke not worth mentioning beyond this, and CGC has, in fact, graded books differently upon resubmission....but those different grades are QUARTER or HALF grades. I can safely say that no book has ever been graded a 4.5, been removed from its holder, had nothing done to it, and regraded 9.6. Ever.Even CGC and PGX have been known to give different grades to resubmitted books.
If a book goes from 8.5 to 9.0, or even 9.2....that's where the subjectivity comes in.

You follow that? With that being said, this comic is being sold "as is" with no returns so please ask all questions prior to bidding.
"no returns, so please ask all questions prior to bidding."
Ok, fair enough....
......
You follow that? So, after he JUST gets through saying there are "no returns, so please ask all questions prior to bidding"....THEN, Seller, in big, bold, red font wrote: I have been getting questions about how I came to my grade. Here are some deciding factors on my assumption of grade. I feel I was conservative on the grade. Sought after books like this one seem to attract overly picky buyers who think 3rd party grading is the best thing since sliced bread and expect that assumed quality -- I have gotten some graded books back that really missed the grade.
....HE GETS UPSET THAT PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY ASKING QUESTIONS!

This is flat out wrong. As sellers should know, and which some of us have found out the hard way, eBay and Paypal consider it the SELLER'S responsibility (and rightly so) to MAKE SURE that their contracted carrier (whether the USPS, UPS, FedEx, or other) DELIVERS the item to the buyer.I am not responsible for uninsured items that get lost or damaged during the shipping process or delayed delivery problems of the USPS. Please be aware of this when leaving star ratings in feedback. You will be contacted when your item is dropped off at the USPS. It is out of my control from there.

If he has stated he is not a professional grader why would he later say that the professionals completely missed the grade. By him making this statement he has now put himself in a class above professional grading. He may in fact have god-like grading skills and not the professional skills that mere mortals do.

$45 BIN
Ninjak Vol 1 Issue 1
Seller says it's gold even though pic shows it's a regular #1. Well even if it's a gold Ninjak, it's not worth anywhere close to $45
