What Next?
Well, I've got the Archer & Armstrong Hardcover (Thank you VEI)! So what could be next?
Of course there are questions about the A&A delay and possible legal concerns re: reprinting Magnus, Solar and Turok, but what do you think will be next?
Another hardcover? If so, which one?
Which title would you like to see get the HC treatment and, if different, which title do you think is most likely?
I'm looking forward to another announcement from VEI but to tide me over give me some speculation!
Thanks all.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

Some comics would be nice... don't think its gunna happen tho. Chances are it'll go Shadowman or Rai.
Valiant is definetly going to want to make something of Shadowman, franchise possibilities have been good on him before, even if it was the Acclaim version. Which raises a BIG question, do VEI throw away Acclaim Shadowman or not? He was worth quite a lot of cash in computer games. And it definetly wasnt the worst of the Acclaim comics. I know I'd prefer to see old school shadowman not his Acclaim counterpart.

I think there are ways to work in Mike LeRoi. The way that version was going from v2 # 16-v3 # 6, was great. I think Shadowman would be the best title to get out next, in terms of VU stuff, although I've heard rumors about Bad Eggs and Hard Boiled being worked on, as well. I think that releasing Shadowman would make it four solid titles in a row to be reprinted. Ninjak, imo, was better as an element than as a regular character. Not saying the title was bad, just never one of my faves, although there were some classic issues. I'd certainly print Rai before I printed Ninjak. Back to Shadowman...between the two versions of Shadowman, I was more attached to Jack, but Mike was growing on me in his own weird way, by the end. There is room for both characters, if they work at it. And yes, my vote is for Rai, after Shadowman...5 straight GREAT titles, and ones which could really be considered core.ian_house wrote:Some comics would be nice... don't think its gunna happen tho. i would love to see rai next. the only problem is, it's a dead end character. not sure that it would be such a gerat idea from a business standpoint for VEI. he's definately a fan favorite-but only for those of us who are already fans.
shadowman makes the most sense now. and then they should begin to publish monthly "pamphlets" or whatever they want to call them.
of course there are some issues with shadowman as well-it's past 1999, the darque power was supposed to have been removed by now, so who knows? a HC with a back story would still be fine though.

Rai could be done, but perhaps not as an ongoing monthly. A series of miniseries, 3-6 issues each, once a year if long, twice if short. As for Shadowman...Bob Hall had some great ideas for the character. I'd love to see him return and finish what he started.dave wrote:i would love to see rai next. the only problem is, it's a dead end character. not sure that it would be such a gerat idea from a business standpoint for VEI. he's definately a fan favorite-but only for those of us who are already fans.
