Wow!! I feel a lot safer now that it's a private auction. If it is the real thing, he didn't do the book a favor by opening it up all the way like that. what a moron.

So is this guy saying that each time he posted this auction on eBay, people have been bidding on it who couldn't pay for it? Hmmm, seems suspicious to me. Once maybe, but multiple times?

He should have sold this book to the most legitimate bidder on the auction. I think this behavior is complete SQUEE. I must be missing something for I haven't heard anyone else mention this.

It sure does. By now he has to be aware of everyones suspicion about not having the book professionally graded. If he just takes the time to have this done, he stands to make a whole lot more. It just does not make a lot sense.

This auction reminds me of the guy that was selling the "Music City" collection a few years back on eBay. Basically, he was peddling books from a supposed estate auction in Nashville that had high grade copies of most Silver Age keys/early issues. The first time around he landed several big bids (multiples of guide) on all books, but no one received any of the comics. A month later he was back with a different ID and sold all of the books again. I think he did this a couple more times before eBay finally did something about it. The only reason I remember this is I was bidding on a few early FFs and received a number of e-mails from other buyers that he had burned in the first two auctions.

Most of his previous sales are for under $5.00. Looks like Junior is trying to go out with a big bang before he takes the money & runs.

All the warning flags people should be getting on this auction and yet it does not stop them from bidding.

Lets see. If it is in NM condition and I get it CGC graded I might get close to 100K. Or I could sell it on eBay ungraded and get @12K. Hard choice....I think I will sell it on eBay cause I don't like CGC....... smart :thumb:

Yeah, maybe he just doesn't want to go into a higher tax bracket at the end of the year.

Just does not make sense to NOT CGC grade it if it is legit. Didn't a graded (9 something) ASM 1 go 100K+ last year? Can't imagine was a 9 plus AF 15 would go for at auction. If this one is for real then the buyer will be very, very happy.

That excuse never made any sense to me.

If I make $10,000 on a book, I might owe the government $1,500.
If I make $100,000 for the SAME book, I might owe the government $30,000.

So, would you rather have $8,500... or $70,000? :P

i e-mailed this dude about a spidey #2 nm he had and i asked him why he wouldn't cgc it for like triple the money and he gave me some lame excuse!
basically only a totally scam artist would not cgc a book of such high dollar value.i would stay away from him like the plaguge!
i don't like cgc!!that means i can't grade or the book is restored or he stole the picture from someone!
i mean he could probably get more money selling it to mile high or metropolis then putting a unslabbed AF 15 on e-bay!

Buddy....

It's REALLY, REALLY hard to read your posts when you don't use paragraphs.

Space, baby, space 'em out!

I know you've got some good stuff to say...I just can't read it! :)

I've never met anyone who had a great book for sale (who knew what he had), that didn't want too make as much as possible. I would, you would, who wouldn't? Since it would pay so much more to cgc the issue, it doesn't make any sense not to.

A lot of people don't like cgc, but even if your one of them , theres too much difference in the price involving this book too not grade it. A buyer could bid with a lot more certainty on what he would get.

You know this and the seller knows this. In my opinion that pretty much should give bidders a clue as to what their getting.
