I don't think Dino is intentionally trying to mislead anyone. What I think is that they have every intention of trying to publish monthly comics again, but the reality is publishing a comic book universe is one of the most difficult things to start up and maintain. There's a reason why only Marvel and DC have been able to have sustained success in the last 60+ years. They're trying their hardest, give them a break.Zaphod wrote:not to mention the additional 5 years they spent drooling over the prospect of one day Acclaim putting the property up for auction....seriously?
you count from the day they gained control over the properties. If you want to give them a mulligan for the time they spent in litigation, focusing on a name more than focusing on producing monthly pamphlets, fine. I don't. The big reason to focus on going to court for the names (besides principal) was that the names have much more marketability than the concept when it comes to selling the movie rights, video game rights etc.
They are coming up on year 4 and really haven't progressed much when it comes to actually relaunching a universe in monthly pamphlets. I'm losing patience with the double-talk I have been reading the last few months from their voice here and I didn't think I would. But it is getting to the point where I feel like dino is jerking me around. Sell it to me straight and don't treat me like a moron. If your focus is to sell the properties as movies or video games or re-release the old material with 2-5% "all new material" then just say so. I can respect that and appreciate the honestly. In fact I can understand if that is the gameplan. So far though, it seems like we are getting assurances they are doing one thing with no forward momentum towards it and I can't shake the feeling that I am being lied to.
Don't *SQUEE* down my back and then tell me that its raining.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

What is sad is that I have never seen the movie (or read the book?) and the reason I know about it is because I have seen "Drop Dead Gorgeous". Numerous times. You'd have to see it to understand.Daniel Jackson wrote:Shh...don't give away the ending......X-O HoboJoe wrote:Daniel Jackson wrote:Psst....Soylent Green is an old Charlton Heston movie.dave wrote:

Yeah, I've seen quite a few TV shows and movies reference Soylent Green over the years.Zaphod wrote:What is sad is that I have never seen the movie (or read the book?) and the reason I know about it is because I have seen "Drop Dead Gorgeous". If one could remember them all, I imagine it would list in the hundreds. Family Guy and The Simpsons both come immediately to mind.....Daniel Jackson wrote: I've seen quite a few TV shows and movies reference Soylent Green over the years.

At this point and with this little information on what is going on, I've completely lost interest in the book. Eight new pages for $24.95 (without a discount) is not justifiable in my mind, given the delays and the deafening silence.
I'm getting an early-Image vibe out of this. Splash announcement, missed shipping date, and then silence regarding actual shipping. I'm sure it'll show up some time, but at the cost of retailer and consumer confidence? And, at what point does this get cancelled by Diamond and have to be resolicited?
