Dead Universe section...
I have missed you.
It is time to get back to managing this place and putting those changes I had in mind in place.
Be on the lookout for some cool $hit, men.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

You will be fine, and we all know it. Know why? Because you are a proven fighter.

Well in truth, this fight is at a cellular level... but I will be damned if I will be laid low by some f-ing cancer cell. Maybe one day, but not today. I just about left the planet three times and believe me, I would rather leave in a fine red mist than whither away.
I do want folks to know that CF is my fund raising thing... but I also do quite a bit locally fund raising trying to find a cure for cancer. I've lost family to it, had some myself and well, CF, Shriners Burn Unit (Byrneout's Christmas fund raiser for the kids/toy drive) and fund raising to find a cure for cancer are 'my thing' these days. So many have done well by the CF fund raiser, I have committed myself this year (and after) to raising even more donations for Shriners Burn Unit and fighting cancer.

You are a top bloke. I don't know anyone else that does so much charity work.
Giving money is easy, organising and making fund raisers is hard.
I helped out with a project, I tell you it is 20 times the effort. So much easier is just to paypal money. Good luck on the way to recovery, good luck with your fundraising.
NB ~ I don't know why board projects are so cheap. I would charge at least $100 ~ it all goes to charity.

I never 'charge', I ask for a donation of a certain amount. I keep it at or around $40. And the hard fact that over 80% of donators for any of the CF VfVSS projects that I have done, will donated OVER the asked for donation amount. Once a board member PMed me and asked if he could just round the donation up to $400. The board is always good like that.Brother J wrote:Maybe because not everyone can afford or wants to spend $100, even if it's going to charity. $50 for a new project is about my upper limit.Phantom wrote:

And other things like when Jedi donated a signed (I think either Harby Pink or Unity Red) then posted something like 'shoot, I wish I had not gotten rid of that book', then bid on it to win it back... to the tune of (+/-) $360 !!! Again, the board is good like that.

I could ask for a $10 donation for a CF VfVSS and still get $2,000+ in donations. These guys here on the boards have HUGE hearts when it comes to the CF fund raiser and I really think that it is NOT the VfVSS book that they go for but rather the Alyssa book with the outline of her hand on it. It's nice to see her hand getting bigger and bigger every year. And now that she can write her name ??? It only gets better.

I want to thank all the board members in the past, present and future that have participated in this program. And a thank you to the members who have done their own projects raising donations and those who have assisted in my projects. The goal is going to be $15,000 on the website but lets shoot for over $30,000 shall we ? A year ago we hit $32K, I say lets get revved up and beat that mark this year. The walk is now in April so we have the time, the motivation AND the means.
