Identity Crisis

Anyone read Identity Crisis? Is it worth picking up the back issues, or should I just wait for the trade paperback?

I read it & thought it was OK. It's more like a murder mystery. I would'mt run down to the LCS & buy it RIGHT NOW, but if you see it for a good price it might be worth a read.

actually i liked it a lot...but it's the sort of thing that i'd rather have in tpb form...i'm actually selling a set on ebay right now...

i'm curious as to what they go for, maybe the sale price on those can help you decide if you want to try to get the issues of the trade...

that my friends, is called pimping.

Each issue is $3.95 (7 issues); total cost would be $27.65. If you don't care to collect the issues, I would get the TPB if it is cheaper than $27.65.

Then ebay has a bunch of complete runs for sale; here's one:

It is a good read. :atomic:

Well written but the series was very overrated. There was a ton of hype and very little pay off in the end (unless you're into some of DC's 3rd rate heroes/villians). You're not really missing much so try not to spend too much, maybe 50% cover at a con or LCS.

Glad to hear some opinions, I wanted to check around because I know that a lot of the "big events" are majorly overhyped with little, if any consequences to the real "universe". But, if it's a good readImage, I may try to pick it up some time depending on how much sets or the trade are going for. Any more opinions are welcome and appreciated.

if you're willing to spend the money, then buy the issues. the trade might not be out for a while. it's a good read, and it sets the stage for some shakeups in the JLA later this year.

Wow not a bad deal. That's almost what Mile High wants just for the first issue.

$12.95? Well, it sounds like I can pick this up pretty cheap. It's always nicer to have the original books for the collection anyway, especially if they can be had for less than a trade paperback price. :D

That sounds too good to be true... maybe the #1 is NOT a first print?

It is. I think each print has a different cover. The #1 has the cover original cover. Did they print that cover twice? I'm gonna check it out this week regardless.

If it is original cover the it should be a first print. The second print is a sketch I believe(?). There is a black reverse sketch cover as well but I don't know it is 3rd printing or some kind of alternative cover...

For Issue #1

The first print is the regular cover.

The second print is the black reverse sketch (the cover is black with white sketches)

The third print is a vairant cover, JLA group portrait inside shattered glass picture frame.
:thumb:

There is a rare sketch variant, which is the only version worth any money.
