I just read this whole thread and I love it.

so what does this say about VEI's choice of distributor?

And so we can clarify, did anyone order from Amazon? Because if they did and they haven't recieved the book yet, I am guessing Diamond isn't to blame, right? Using the established logic flow from previous.
First of all, really good point. I didn't even think about the fact that Diamond doesn't effect Amazon's distribution... or at least it didn't for Harbinger, so I assume it doesn't now. So if that's true, then I guess Diamond probably isn't the one to blame.

As for "choice of distributor"... is there really one? I don't claim to be an expert on the subject, but I've read before that it's pretty much essential to go through Diamond if you want to distribute in the comic world.

It was the responsibility of VEI to ensure that the book meet the original solicited shipping date (which was determined months prior to). Also, the majority of what is contained in the HC is reprint material. I'm of the opinion that if a publisher doesn't have enough oversight to effectively get a collection of reprint material to market on time then something is wrong. It makes me wonder why VEI doesn't have fail-safes in place to accommodate for things like printing errors. It's also seems very shortsighted to issue a press release stating the new release date would be Oct. 8 and then miss that shipping date as well.

If you could please elaborate on what it is you have a problem with in my reply, we might be able to have a discussion.

IF you are hiding behind a shill account, then you must have done something objectionable.

If not, then :?

I don't believe VEI issued any press release saying when the new release date was going to be. A website not affiliated with VEI said the 8th. Did I miss something? Last word I saw was from Dino saying "shortly" as seen in Jedi's quote.
That's fair. It was my assumption that VEI provided CBR with the revised release date along with the preview material.

BTW - since you are relatively new, I'll explain a bit - "PaulSmith56" was a person who posted here ONCE, and his post was full of excitement and wonder at the sight of a site dedicated to VALIANT comics. As I said, he posted ONCE.

Your first post here, after a few months of being a member, was one that could be perceived as having a negative connotation. Hence, Woogie's reply that "you are no PaulSmith."

There was nothing malicious in the intent, it is what we like to call "board humour." A lot of jokes made around here are "inside" jokes and if one hasn't been around a while, it might not make sense and one could even perceive said negative connotation, while it never was intended as such.
