I'm surprised by that. They screw up a lot, but they're usually very willing to fix their mistakes. Did you talk to someone on their customer service phone line?Dr. Solar wrote:BOOOO!
I don't like mycomicshop.com.
There have been problems with two of three last orders I had with them. One was minor damage, the other problem was them refusing to do anything about the fact I never received my order.

I don't know, it seems like whenever I hear about someone e-mailing customer service for either Lone Star or Mile High, they never get anywhere. Apparently these companies are confused by the concept of electronic mail. I usually just go ahead and call since I have free long distance, and that seems to work a lot better. It might not be an option in your case, though.Dr. Solar wrote:I emailed with a customer service rep.Brother J wrote:I'm surprised by that. It is rare for me to use even 25% of my monthly cell phone minutes, and that is with the smallest plan available.

Sorry to hear that. I've never had problems with them and the guys here in the threads have been the first to voice otherwise.Dr. Solar wrote:BOOOO!

I've heard plenty of bad things about them from others on this and other boards.
I've had quite a few problems with various orders, but they usually do a good job of fixing it once I call customer service.

Most recently I bougt a run of early Maguns books that were missing coupons though listed otherwise and a "NM" X-O #1 with a 1" tear up the spine.
Three years ago I would have said that mycomicshop.com was the most fair if not generous in grading comics. However, more recently I have been consistently disappointed to the point that I’ve stopped ordering from them altogether. That said, I’ve never had a problem returning items though.

LOL! No, I don't work for them but I am a regular customer. Unfortunately, since their website services worldwide, I guess it's bound to have a fair number of screw-ups in orders. I'm just sorry you guys had bad experiences, that's all.Brother J wrote:hmmm, you're in Texas, do you work for them?grifter78 wrote:Sorry to hear that. ...and honestly, the only reason I post these is because I know people are looking for back issues. I was a second-hand Valiant reader but have been picking up the Hardcovers. I would like to see the Valiant universe relaunched and I know that showing interest in the past titles can be relayed through retailers and there communication with distributors.
That's my goal here.

I do appreciate your intentions—of which I feel were obvious. I apologize if my comment was perceived as a slap in the face. Also, I’m glad to hear that you are continuing to have great service as deciding to not use mycomicshop.com anymore was more of a disappointment than the condition of the books themselves.grifter78 wrote:...and honestly, the only reason I post these is because I know people are looking for back issues. No, I didn't take it as a slap in the face. I was merely laying my intentions out on the table as a fellow fan. But I appreciate your clarification.sanman wrote:I do appreciate your intentions—of which I feel were obvious. I apologize if my comment was perceived as a slap in the face. My experiences with Lone Star wasn't bad, but their grading is slightly off. Where they grade books as NM, expect something in the ranges of 8.5 - 9.2 when you receive them. This isn't that bad if you compare it with Mile High's grading. However there was one book that they graded NM that had a one inch tear on the bottom spine. They were willing to work it out with me through email. Pretty much I've sent the book back for a replacement and they actually refunded me the postage fees.

I've had them mess up both orders I've placed with them too but, in all honesty, I didn't bother to give them a chance to correct it because they weren't that big of deals anyways. Like they'd ship me Vol. 2 instead of Vol. 1. I still like them well enough and their deals are better than what I can find almost anywhere else... except maybe here and occasionally ebay.

Heh... yeah... one of the other problems I had was I ordered the X-O pink and they sent me the regular.Daniel Jackson wrote:Doing that or sending you the regular issue instead of the variant seems to happen quite a bit with them. A lot guys around here (including me) have posted similar experiences over the years.etos45 wrote: Like they'd ship me Vol. 2 instead of Vol. 1.

some of us have a higher tolerance for screw-ups, I guess.h-comics wrote:After scewing up my last two orders,I say the hell with them.

The prices on some things are good, so it's hard to pass up.
Y'know, I think I could do a survey question on this. I think I'll post it in the registered members section.

That's a good idea, and then I'll be sure to send the results to the owner. I know that's no guarantee that anything will be done, but it's worth a try.Brother J wrote:some of us have a higher tolerance for screw-ups, I guess.h-comics wrote:After scewing up my last two orders,I say the hell with them.
