Broadway Comics...any good?

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

Post by cinlach@aol.com »

i keep seeing people post about broadway comics..i've never read them.

i remember seeing them listed, dark dominion by ditko, charlemagne, femme fatale, knights of broadway...we're they any good?

i guess what i'm asking is should i start looking for these things? am i missing something spectacular?

i'm always interested in finding a new, impossible to find, cancelled series of books to read...lol

try completing a run of nexus or scout...sheesh!

There pretty good reads. Your typical Shooter storys.
BTW Dark Domain, and Charlemagne are Defiant. :)

cinlach,
If you've never tried Broadway, your missing a good group of stories. I enjoyed them more than most of the Defiant books, although I didn't think they were as good as most of the pre unity Valiants. I personally think that the Fatale series was the best of the lot and a good starting point if you decide to collect & read the books.

I agree. If you like Jim's work with Valiant (and who here doesn't) then I would highly recommend giving Defiant & Broadway a try.

I prefer Broadway over Defiant, especially Star Seed. But be prepared (like all Shooter-verses) for the letdown of unfinished stories

I havent read them, but I have been actively collecting them and trying to get all of each. As far as looks go, it looks to me like Broadway had the more interesting covers as compared to Defiant. All seem to have white backgrounds (which is like a difficult color to remain in hi grade) and most have a black border around them. Im not sure, but Im only counting like 33 or 34 original Broadway books (Im not an expert for sure, but I dont think there are that many). Ive got nearly all of them that I know of that are out there, and as a set, the Broadway books have a very pleasing set look. Defiant seems more scattered. But Broadway books have a set look to them. I wish there were a lot more of them. I know you cant judge a book by its cover, I havent read them yet, but as far as looks go, Broadway books look better hands down. :thumb:

Ive asked before and never found an answer. What happened to Shooter after Broadway? Did he just have enough and quit altogether? I have no idea what happened to him. Honestly. :?

Yes, a tasty morsel but that is all...

Defiant I just haven't gotten to yet. I'm saving that dead universe for next year!
