How I came to Valiant

Post by Alaric »

I first discovered Valiant comics at the age of 15. I was already a big X-MEN (still am) and there was new comic shop that opened up in my local mall. Sometime around Christmas I was in this comic shop and I remember seeing the Harbinger tpb on a table for half price. It reminded me of X-MEN, so I bought it. I really liked it. Also, that Christmas my Mom got me a copy of Wizard magazine that focused on Valiant comics. So within a momth I got Bloodshot#2. I instantly was hooked on Bloodshot. I had seen in Wizard that Bloodshot's first full appearnce was in Eternal Warrior #5. I tracked it down and was not only happy to get it for the Bolodshot appearnce but I was blown away by the Eternal Warrior (it reminded me of "Highlander" one of my favorite movies). Once agin I was hooked on another Valiant title. Shortly after I bought the Eternal Warrior#9. I began to buy both Bloodshot and Eternal Warrior on a monthly basis. Then after collecting these books for a few years I stopped. It seemed that Bloodshot and Eteranal Warrior were appearing in several books so I stoped buying Valiant to give my wallet a break. During my College years I began noticing Valiant comics were in $.50 and $1.00 bins. Since I didn't have much cash this would meet my comic need. I began to fill my gaps in Bloodshot and Eternal Warrior as well as collecting other Valiant Titiles that I always wanted to read.

To make a long story short I buy Valiant comcs whenever I can find them. I'm still trying to complete my Bloodshot and Eternal Warrior.

sets. [/u]

Welcome to the board.

The last issue of Bloodshot is a little pricey, but you should be able to find the rest fairly cheap.

This is true. In fact, the last 2-5 issues can be tricky to find AND expensive, especially if one includes Last Stand as part of that group.

Yeah, I think Last Stand is right up there with #51.
