I've started that... pretty flashy but very similiar to the graphics in Ninja Gaiden Sigma which I guess was a very good testbed for Ninja Gaiden II (WHICH I consider to be a MUST buy).
Today I played Conan for ooooohhhhh 14 hours. I busted my *SQUEE* on Friday so that the house was INCREDIBLE and my 'honey-do' list was wiped out so I announced that "I am playing ALL day Saturday", and I actually got in three hours on Sunday seeing as how it is so late !!!!
I am surprised that I have not finished the game yet but with me being a HUGE Conan fan, I am just LOVING the game. Yes, there are MAJOR issues with the game itself like Conan's foot standing on thin air in some areas and attaching from an angle that is not possible, bad guys getting 'hung up' in the air after death but I care not, this is CONAN and one of the BEST parts of it is rescuing the damsels, one per level (although I rescued 2 on a level once) and when you rescue them they say the cutest things. My favorite saying is... "Thank you for rescuing me, uh oh... where are my clothes ?" and "How can I EVER repay you ?" It is just too cool. I have a slew of Conan cards as well as the B/W magazine which features FANTASTIC art from some of the best in the biz (Sal Buscema being one) and a lot of grey-wash art on those pages or simply amazing inks.
But the game, VERY pretty at times... could have been SO much better but at least I can PLAY Conan, unlike my brother-in-law who bought Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures and his 'high speed, brand new computers' cannot even play it. hehehe details on the game are here:

Hell, it even comes with a statement:
oh yeah, been playing Conan on the 360. It's cool.

I wont be trying it but it looks nice. Bought my son World of Warcraft and the add on and what not, I told him to save me two slots just in case I want to play. I think he has been playing something like 32.7 hours now and there is some funky green mist coming out of his room and the SMELL.... gonna vom. No, not really. I got him hooked up on the 'wireless' and the ONLY way he can get on the net to play this is to get a thumb drive from me that acts as the antenna. It works out pretty well and he is really psyched about it... we're both happy so it's cool.Technical issues notwithstanding, the violently rewarding Age of Conan is one of the finest online RPGs available.
oh yeah, been playing Conan on the 360. It's cool.

Oh it is... it is a light hit on the fact that Conan was one womanizing mo-fo !!! I like fightin' and *SQUEE*'..... and not always in that order. pseudo video-game playing related question.
I put my PS2 and some random games up on Craigslist, since I haven't used them in over a year. Got an email offering $80 for just the system and a controller. This is the older model of the system, before the slim came out.
Checking ebay shows this to be on the higher end of prices...so am I stupid not to take the deal?
(btw, no reason to think it's a scam yet. He hasn't asked to pay by wire transfer and have me ship it to him...yet)

wow I don't think there's anything special about an old PS2, sounds like you're getting a good deal, unless he's over seas or something.iccarus wrote:pseudo video-game playing related question.

I have not e-mailed him back yet. Most scammers I get through CL have very poor communication skills and don't try to negotiate. Either he's working a different angle or he's legit...I'll have to wait and see.dbostejano wrote:wow I don't think there's anything special about an old PS2, sounds like you're getting a good deal, unless he's over seas or something.iccarus wrote:pseudo video-game playing related question.

On the Wii, Ive got all my golds, including the Mirror levels.. now Im working on time trials. I dont have all the characters yet. I play with the steering wheel in auto mode, although in order to decrease my time a bit more I think I will need to start playing in manual to get those extra boosts..
I downloaded the original Super Mario Bro's and I can cruise through that in about 5 minutes and save the princess on level 8-4.. it was a fun game

Finally got Mario Kart and it's a blast. The whole family likes to play it.
For some reason this game has been super hard to find. I made the mistake of not buying it the day it came out and boy was that the wrong thing to do. I've looked online and at every store in my area with no luck (except ebay, where it's going for way too much $$) until my wife ran across one this week at a Wal-Mart.

I LOVE that game and fun racing games in general.Daniel Jackson wrote:Finally got Mario Kart and it's a blast. The whole family likes to play it.

I am playing Bad Company and Metal Gear Solid 4 right now and am having a BLAST (no pun intended) with Bad Company. But come the 20th of this month, I may be hard to find as Too Human comes out and with the demo having me all hot and bothered I can only imagine how great the game hopefully is.
I did read an article in my newest issue of GameInformer about the newest Batman game coming out. It is going to be called Batman: Arkham Asylum and I have to say (me being a Batman fan), this game is a year out and already looks polished and ready for the shelf and the game basically sounds FANTASTIC and just pegged my 'Wow Meter'

IMO, this will be a game to look out for.

My brother recently started playing this on the hard setting and unlocked the Indomitable Spirit achievement (continue 1000 times).cobra_commander wrote:Lemme know what you think when you get on to the Hard difficulty (Way of the Master)dbostejano wrote:Just started yesterday...2 levelcobra_commander wrote:How far are you into the game?dbostejano wrote:Ninja Gaiden 2.....awesome game.
He then proceeded to get so *SQUEE* off with the game he threw a controller across the room and punched the wall, breaking his hand. What a *SQUEE*.
I have been playing Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions on the PSP far too much recently.
Up to chapter 4 and am working on some of the side quests to obtain special characters. Have got Beowulf and Reis and returned Reis to her human form and have got Construct 8. Last night I obtained Balthier (the sky pirate from FFXII) and am now working toward getting Cloud from FFVII to join my team.

It's not awful, it's not great. But it does have some nice storylines if you're really into the Star Wars stuff. Good use of force powers. Terrible camera issues.*SQUEE* wrote:I was totally going to pick up The Force Unleashed but it is getting terrible reviews. I am thinking twice about it now. Anyone played it yet?

That's blasphemy! How dare you say anything SW is getting terrible reviews! They must be destroyed!*SQUEE* wrote:I was totally going to pick up The Force Unleashed but it is getting terrible reviews. I am thinking twice about it now. Anyone played it yet?

I played the demo and loved it, but I can see repetition being an issue.
That being said I'm getting it! collectors edition please!

Here is the X-Play review.
Star Wars The Force Unleashed
As long as this game took to be released, you would think they would have worked all of the bugs out and refined the game play. What a shame, I was really stoked for this game.

Remember when I posted about the layoffs at Lucas Arts? I wonder if this was affected by that?Daniel Jackson wrote:Here is the X-Play review.

Yeah, from watching that review, I would say it had a pretty big impact. The same thing happened to the last few games Acclaim put out. You could tell they weren't putting the necessary resources into making the games as you played them. I hope Lucas Arts fares better than they did.dbostejano wrote:Remember when I posted about the layoffs at Lucas Arts? Hey DJ are you going to get their KOTR online game (rumored)?
I've tried to avoid these massive online games simply because I like being married, but I don't know that I can avoid this game plus the eventual divorce that comes with playing these type of games.
