He'll probably just bungle it up in the end, as usual.
Have you read Emperor Doom. He conquered the world and he didnt like it

He had one.

His mother.

That was one thing I liked better about pre-Crisis Doom. This backstory they have given him is pretty weak. Kind of like Darth Vader, the less with his childhood, the better.
pre-crisis Doom?

Now that would be one heck of a battle! Doom vs. Thanos? That would be cool!
How could Thanos touch Doom if he has the Infinity Gauntlet? :?

He couldn't. But I'd love to see them battle each other without it. It would make for a cool story.

pre-crisis Doom?
It's a joke.

In Twisted Toyfare Theatre, at one point Johnny Storm claims to be the "pre-Crisis Human Torch who was really an android or whatever" to get into a Battlebots-like competition. Ultimately, the poor Storm gets beaten to the point of hospitalization by the Fantastic Four's robotic butler and repeatedly raped by the same robot while in a body cast, but I picked up on the pre-Crisis joke to refer to Marvel characters before whatever current retconning the writers Marvel up.

Tim wrote:And does anybody think that giving the Infinity Gems to members of the Illuminati was a DUMB idea on Reed Richards part?

I mean, I understand separating them, but is it really that intelligent to keep them all on Earth (except for Black Bolt's) and all with people who know each other.

Spreading them throughout the galaxy and giving them to people who don't know the identities of the other holders would be a lot safer.

That was still a GREAT issue.
But the gems don't even work together anymore
Whether the gems work together or not, someone with the right intellect using each gem individually (even if just one at a time and had to switch between them) would still be quite formidable, I have to figure.
What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter
