A LCS owner back in my hometown got about 31 issues. He had put most of them on ebay before they were recalled because of the graphic language. He only returned the copies that he considered as damaged merchandise due to bends and rips not because of the recall.

when was this? I had number 10 and sold it for cheap. Didn't know anything about this. What part of it was graphic? I don't remember any of it being offensive?KO2003 wrote:Tim wrote:Honestly, what retailer is going to destroy these?sanman wrote:Ridiculous and one really know just how many weren’t destroyed. Also, according to the notice that Diamond sent out they are going to be getting the new versions for free.
So they keep these books and make a killing off them (I've seen some of the Quietly versions going for over $100

Then they will sell us the regular versions for their regular price.
Gotta love capitalism.

as a retailer, i find this whole situation completely unacceptable.
the stores that did get them were able to make literally thousands of free dollars for doing nothing but putting up listings.
stores like myself 1) didn't get them in the first place, thus we lose sales and 2) we aren't getting the new copies for free
i think diamond and dc should penalize retailers who did resell these books. it's not fair to the rest of the dealers who didn't get these books. it's like sending specific stores boxes of variants and leaving the rest of us out...

I wonder how it was determined which stores got them and which didn't. Was it the earliest orders that were filled before the recall was known? You would think if the recall was known before Diamond shipped the books, that NONE of them should have been shipped.daydreamscomics wrote:as a retailer, i find this whole situation completely unacceptable.

I totally agree. But I still had to get a Quitely Variant.daydreamscomics wrote:as a retailer, i find this whole situation completely unacceptable.

BTW my patience paid off.
Quitely Variant
I bid $50 on one of his auctions and didn't win it. He sent me a second chance offer.
He's got more in his store maybe he is willing to part with them for $50

It may be worth a shot if you want to get the book but not pay a ton of money for it.

At least I'm not the guy who paid $170!
Plus I think when these books dry up $50 for the variant cover is a good price
