i stumbled upon my "checklist" that is held together mostly by tape now.
i noticed something pretty cool...if any of you are as nerdy as i am-you might get a kick out this:

i printed the checklist on 4/26/2003 (this was my second print-i left the first one in a shop a few weeks before)

on august 13, 2003 i needed 174 total books from the checklist.
oct 2, 2003- 162 books
oct 13, 2003- 155
oct 27, 2003-151
nov 8, 2003- 131 (pretty productive 2 weeks!)
dec 15, 2003- 125
jan 3, 2004- 122
jan 6, 2004-110
jan 11, 2004 108
jan 14, 2004-107
feb 28, 2004- 97 books
march 10, 2004 70 books
that's the last entry until today...
march 3, 2005 43 books.

now that this is typed out, i guess i coulda gone into my valiant story-but this is sorta an addendum anyway-plus i wanted it to get read!

guess if there was any doubt before, we know who's a nerdy fan-boy now!

Are you planning on getting all the VVSSs and Valiant Voice papers?

yes i am. i wasn't at first until i found a box of old beckett magazines I'd been keeping. stashed in that box were 5 valiant voices that i had kept!
so i decided to go for it. i have all the easy vvss books with the exception of rai 9-i'm patient though!

I'm just conflicted on the whole thing...

The Valiant Voices, although cool and collectable, are NOT comics. Therefore, I don't think they should even be on the checklist with the comics. After all, why put those in if you're not going to put all the cards and pins and shirts and why stop there, why not add space for the beers?

Now the VVSSs they are just the same issues that were stamped, shoot, some of them were not even stamped at all! The golds are another matter. They are true variants. I'm sure this has been debated and, if it weren't for the fact that the VVSSs were issued directly by Valiant, no one but Dino would care... :P hehe

...Or maybe I'm just whining becuase I dont want to spend $100 each on EW 27 and Psi-Lords VVSS...

the difference that i see b/w the vv's vvss and the cards and junk is the little box in the corner, with the numbers. I know they gave vv's away, i don't know if anyone was ever actually charge a quarter for one-and you're right that they are really comics...but i think that the difference is the logo boxes.

the fun thing, for me, is...just trying to track them down. I don't really care if i ever get them all...i won't pay $100 for any comic. not unless ZWH came on here offering $1000 for it...then I'd buy it for $100 to sell it for grand! I'm just not that kind of collector. I would pay the money for original art-but i never have that much money for comics...even though i am spending probably more than $100 a month again (thanks greg)../it's in $25 increments-and if i try to hold out for even 2 weeks-my wife figures out that i have extras cash and she spends it for me...
