That's more than a fair price for these books. You're paying shipping, too, right?whetteon wrote:Looking to purchase Amazing Spidey #334-340,342 in nm for $1 a book. The 345-347 grouping I'll pay $2 per book.
By the way...#337's one of my fav Larson covers.

I'm paying reasonable shipping cost too.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:That's more than a fair price for these books. You're paying shipping, too, right?whetteon wrote:Looking to purchase Amazing Spidey #334-340,342 in nm for $1 a book. The 345-347 grouping I'll pay $2 per book.

His Spidey work is pretty cool. I'm a fan of #347 with Venom holding Spidey's skull. Of course it might help that it's the first Spidey mag I bought

Nah, I think he just got stupid with Venom. All green slobber and Picasso teeth. It was dumb. What's his bucket didn't get it any better.whetteon wrote:I'm paying reasonable shipping cost too.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:That's more than a fair price for these books. You want the best Venom ever?
Bust out yo copy of Amazing #316.
Why that book doesn't sell for CONSIDERABLY MORE than it does, ESPECIALLY being the second full App of Eddie, I just don't know.
It is, however, the best venom cover of all time.

I own two copies because I love that three issue run. Preaching to the choir!

Someone on the CGC forum wants $20 for about half the books I listed above. Surely someone can give me a better bargain on these boards!

Don't want to hijack BUT...
I think Larsen did a great job with making Venom look actually menacing. He got silly at times (like 333 and 347 covers), but McFarlane's venom never seemed scary to me back then. The cover for 346 changed my view of Venom. He was already a cool character, but something about that image shift on 346 just worked for me.
I know he did earlier work on Venom, but for what ever reason that close up with the slober and drool turned Venom from a man to a monster.
Maybe it's just me and maybe it was because I was a kid back then, but I give props to Larsen's occasional Venom.
...this post can resume its intended discussion.
