Fables is good

SO I just read The Good Prince. (Fables TPB 10)

It could not have been better. It was like while I was reading it, I was super enjoying it..... but also bummin.

Every page I turned was one page closer to the end. Kinda like when you would hook up with a hot chick at summer camp, it is all good, but you can see the end quickly.

Every story arc has been great.

I think if I could pick only one title to read, give me Fables.

Now, I have not read all of Sandman, and Astro City is very, very good..... but 10 TPBs worth of Fables, with #11 TPB coming out in a few months.....

Make mine Fables.

One last thing..... the Fables TPB pages are news-print-esque. I kinda liked it. I don't need the super glossy pages.

Bottom line.... Fables is a great read.

Yeah, Fables is GREAT. I think that what you said can apply to ANY great read. I just re-read Watchmen and WOW. After all these years, still WOW. I love great stories and I hate knowing I'm near "the end".

I know what you mean man. I get that excitement every month when I get a new Fables comic and then hate myself when I read it within a few mins and have to think about the LOOOONNNGGGG month ahead.

Its just an excellently put together concept with excellent writing, compelling characters and good art. Pretty much the only comic I read religiously.

No, I haven't read any, but I plan on looking some up, I really hadn't read any of his stuff until I picked up Fables #50 a few years back on a friends recommendation, and I've been hooked ever since.

Elementals has a "pre-uni feel" to me. Very good, VERY edgy (especially considering the time the originals came out).....

Sorta... kinda Harbinger-ish.

Highly recommend it. And there is some wierd stuff also.

The best thing I can say about Fables....

When I read the TPB for the first time...

Every page I read brings a bit of sadness.... one page closer to the end.

I think I'm up to vol 6 as well. I have 1001 Nights, but haven't read it yet. Is there a certain spot that 1001 Nights falls into the storyline or can you read it as a stand alone type story anywhere along the line?

I think I'm up to vol 6 as well. I have 1001 Nights, but haven't read it yet. Is there a certain spot that 1001 Nights falls into the storyline or can you read it as a stand alone type story anywhere along the line?

Read it right before the Arabian tpb . . .

you don't have to read it there but I think it fits best there . .

Umm...gang? Having read through the 11th trade collection-I humbly submit this as the greatest-or perhaps most unique-series currently on the market and one of the best books of the past 20 years. Simply AMAZING. I loved it from the start and knew I was missing some great stuff, but now that I've caught up-had only read the first collection, some time back-I am totally hooked. I think I'm going to hunt down Jack of Fables, too, and the current fables storyline in regular form. I believe I've got a new monthly title for the first time in AGES.

It's not just the writing, which has a degree continuity which is rare, but the artwork. My god, the art! It's got STORYTELLING to it. These aren't just pictures to help illustrate the story. These are rich drawings-and sometimes paintings-which breathe life into the characters and stories. All in all, this is a fablulous work which deserves all the attention it gets, and maybe even more. If the tv series has even half the appeal of the book, it'll be one to watch for.

Lone Star has both issues you need, #77 at $2.40 and #78 at cover price. That's where I typically go if I miss a recent back issue.

Awesome. I am so looking forward to that mini. I never thought going into the book that Cinderella would become my favorite character, but I absolutely love what Willingham did with her, and am eager to see where Roberson takes her.
