Elveen - CF sketch man !!!
Elveen just called me from SDCC, he was hyped up, and talking so fast I thought it was my third cousin Kristy in Jersey, currently a little 'busy', hopped up on crack, smack and horse all the while telling me what a bad mistake it was to get this job as a 'fluffer' at an ongoing porn convention in Cleveland.
Anyways, once I got him calmed down he was really stoked because he was scoring sketches for CF left and right, so far on the list, Sean Chen, Bernard Chang, NEAL ADAMS, MIKE GRELL, MICHAEL LINSNER and quite a few more... and the dude has only been there a day. WHAT a TROOPER... GREAT JOB ELVEEN.

You got that right.whovianone wrote:Ticket to the con.... Way expensive

Getting sketches for CF by taking time out of your glorious experience there?
PRICELESS!
You da man, Elveen!
I have always been lucky, having retired from the Army I always got my tickets for something like $30-$35. I way it reads, it is for 'active service members'... but even retirees can be called back to Service so even in our System we are considered 'active duty'. Even my 'retired ID card' looks like the previous Active Duty card. I have NEVER had a problem and I have always been treated like gold during that process.
Odd, how I have been made to feel VERY good about having Served than when I was actually 'in' and had the short hair and everything. 'Cept, now it is my turn to stop young men and women, America's Son's and Daughter's on the street, shake their hand and tell them 'thank you' for their 'Service, Sacrafice and Dedication to Duty'. You guys out there at the Con, on yer way back home... try it out. Ask an 'military looking person' to see if they are in and just tell them 'thank you'... it felt good to hear it when I was in uniform and now it feels even BETTER as I am on the thanking side.
I look at the young men and women that I train these days... look into their faces and just think how YOUNG they look and what horrors they may face, what fear they may have to face and have to temper that fear to face fantastic odds just to make it out alive or to save their fellow Brother or Sister and do so without a moments hesitation.
Gentlemen, all we hear about the 'war' is the bad crap and blood that sells newspapers and sells air time on TV. There are INCREDIBLE, and I mean INCREDIBLE acts of Bravery, Selfless Service and Love for your Brother and Sister currently Serving in some place that they would rather not be. I think about 'em everyday and I am DAMN proud of them... so try it on once in a while, tell somebody that is Serving "Thank You", I promise you, it is something that they will never forget and years later when they are looking back on their career, yes they will remember the horrors that they had to endure, the friends that they made and lost but they wil remember YOU as well... they will remember YOU in that airport somewhere in the USA and that handshake.

Really.
Dude, I gotta show off and post these, I don't think I can wait. It is not a board auction, it is up on ebay.
I got pics of the creators holding the sketchs and everything......
Knightt, maybe you can reconsider.
I would imagine that most of these sketches will be bought by non-board memebers anyways. I talked to alot of people (normal Joes) at the show that asked me when they were going up. I also got every creators (well most of them), personal contact info. so I can tell them when it goes on ebay (so they know it is really for charity) and most of them said when I contact them, they have ways of letting their fans know also.
Dude the excitment is NOW, the excitement is today!
Consider it done.Elveen wrote:Knightt wrote:Please do not post any pics... I love to see the excitement on the boards WHEN they go up for auction.
