6:00-7:00 From Fan to Creator: Goal Setting for Creative Types—Which side of the convention table do you want to be on: artist or fan? And what’s keeping you from getting there? If you have an idea in your head that you’ve had trouble bringing into reality, you might benefit from this fun and practical goal-setting workshop, designed specifically for the Comic-Con crowd. Teacher and life purpose coach Douglas Neff will give you simple, proven techniques for achieving your most important goals. And this year, a surprise guest panel will fill your head with inspiration before you leave. Whether you want to write your own screenplay, draw your first comic, or shoot your independent film, you’re sure to get something useful from this informative and energizing workshop. Room 30CDE
-Might be good, or might be a lame panel for people that can't put on their shoes without encouragement.
I went to that one last year and didn't like it, I didn't even stay.

It's mostly a motivational speaking panel. They give you a piece of paper to fill out with where you see yourself in a few years and how you plan to get there, stuff like that.
Good to know. I thought it might be pretty useless.

I'm really interested in achievement/success type self help stuff, but I thought this might be pretty low level stuff.

I'll either hit up DC Nation or go get a drink with the podcasting guys.

I though we were playing poker on Thurs. night?

:?
7pm, right?

I imagine I will be at the panel from 5-6, then hanging out talking to folks for a bit, then heading back for the game.
What happened with cleaning up before so we wouldn't reek? Do as I say, not as a I do? :? :P

So, while we're out playing in the room you'll be in the bathroom washing up... naked?!? My poor eyes!!

If there has to be nudity, why does it have to be a dude??

Actually, if I am taking a shower while other folks are around, I am gonna suggest that you leave the bathroom door closed for the duration.

I will be attending:
1:00-2:00 Hi-Fi Coloring Workshop—Brian Miller (Superman) and Kristy Miller (Hi-Fi Color for Comics) share their tips, tricks, and techniques for coloring comics. Want to learn how to color? Join Brian and Kristy for a coloring demonstration and Q&A session. Room 30CDE
-I've got their book and it is pretty good.

5:00-6:00 The Third Annual Comics Podcasting Panel—The best of the best in comics podcasting returns to San Diego for the third annual discussion of comics podcasting and how it’s affected the comics media. Rick Remender (writer of Fear Agent, Punisher War Journal, The End League) moderates a no-holds-barred discussion with comics podcasters Bryan Deemer and Peter Rios (Comic Geek Speak), Charlito and Mr. Phil (Indie Spinner Rack), Joe Gonzalez and Jimmy Aquino (Comic News Insider), Josh Flanagan and Conor Kilpatrick (iFanboy), and John Mayo and Bob Bretall (Comic Book Page). Room 32AB
-I've met a couple of these guys, and interacted online with a few more of them. These panels are always fun and interesting, especially since, well, I do a comics podcast too.

.
So...when are WE gonna be on the panel....?

It's like looking at purchasing a CGC book - buy the comic, not the label.

-slym (just replace "comic" with "nominee" - and yes, buying them is feasible)

Comic-Con 2008:

Attention, Supernatural Fans!
This sounds like it's significant and that in reporting it, I might save a few folks from a date with a curtain rod and belt. So here goes.

My pal at Warner Bros. wants all of the Winchester-loving Comic-Con attendees to know that although the Supernatural panel will still be held on Sunday, July 27 (from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm in Room 6CDEF), Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki will actually be doing their autograph signing on Saturday the 26th, from 5 to 6 pm in the Warner Bros. booth on the main convention floor.

And just like that, I save countless nearly-trampled lives and much heartbreak. — Matt Mitovich
