It had a chance when Joss Whedon was set to write and direct it, now who knows.

I mean, you do understand that Aric and Stark are nothing alike and completely different characters, RIGHT?

I guarantee you the pitch for the movie is "It's like Iron Man but with Conan wearing the suit."

With Iron Man pulling in over 300 million domestic and even more worldwide I would make it be known how similiar the concepts are. Hollywood loves nothing more than retreading a hit.

3) That a Harbinger II movie can utilize Geoff McHenry the Geomancer and would help Peter connect with other allies like the Eternal Warrior and Shadowman against Harada and his army of Harbingers.

4) X-O Manowar II Movie would be a major battle with Lydia and the Spider-Aliens and would guest Peter the Harbinger, and the other heroes in an epic movie !

Well , i have to say that i was pretty excited to here the news about the Harbinger movie. I'm trying not to have any expectations about the flick , just in case i'm really disappointed.
The possibilities are a lot of fun to think about.
I hope that the actors are cast because of talent .......... and not just because they look good.
Staying true to the original material is important as well.

I'm sure it is, because they have to make it clear that the character is different.

If they said "it's like Iron Man with Howard Hughes wearing the suit" then they'd be pitching Iron Man.

They have to draw a distinction.

i guess you'd need a major stylistic change so people wouldn't compare XO to Ironman. like for instance, have Aric narrate the tale in a very passionate, warrior-esque manner like the narrator in 300. make him say stuff like fire-light, metal beasts, etc. to emphasize how foreign our world is to him.

If you do an X-O movie, what do you take it up to story wise in the comics? Can you squeeze in enough to get up to the place where he sleeps in the suit for a night and wakes up speaking good english and understanding what and when he is? I forget what early issue that is, but it seems to me like that would be a good stopping point for movie one and a good pickup spot for a 2nd movie. Even if they don't follow the early comics exacly (I'm sure they won't unfortunately) they should deal with him escaping the spider aliens, meeting Ken(?), being attacked as they try to take back the armor, and finally retalliating at the spider aliens and wiping many of them out before getting his epihany of education by the suit in after the dust settles at the end.

To the general public, yes it would be quite compared to Iron Man.

The movies aren't going to be called "Tony Stark" or "Aric of Dacia". They are called friggin "Iron Man" and (I assume) "X-0 Manowar"

visually they will look quite similar to both a benefit and a detriment.

Don't expect to have Aric spend a long period of the movie trying to understand "these strange Romans who wear strange clothing and chatter like a raven."

Expect a script that begins much like XO#0
What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter

That was issue 6 I believe.

0 was Aric's origin tale and abduction.

1 and 2 dealt with his fight with the Spider-Aliens.

3 and 4 dealt with Sniper and Harada

5 and 6 were the fight with Ax

The movie would most likely focus solely on 0, 1, and 2.

okay, so XO would be compared to Ironman. in that case would EW be comared to Highlander(i suppose it's a rhetorical question at this point). Rai would actually be a pretty original idea for a movie. also, don't hate for this, but would an A&A movie be more like a cross between Abbot&Costello and Rush Hour?

If we're going to be negative about it, then Rai will be compared to Samurai Jack

Rai will definitely be done in the anime style, not a live action movie.

There was a style used in the Animatrix movies I thought would really work for Rai. It was the story with the woman with long white hair or something like that. I forget the details. There were horses and ninjas I think

that sounds much better, i hear that the same studio that did the Animatrix did a series of anime shorts for Batman

Long as we're comparing,

I'd like to see an Armorines or HARD Corps live action show done in the style of CBS' The Unit.

It stands to reason that Armorines would be better suited for that model given that both it and Unit are military shows, but I think that it can work for HARD Corps too.

The movie would most likely focus solely on 0, 1, and 2.
I thought it was something around that scale. So perhaps do 0, 1, 2, then skip to his suit assisted epiphany which didn't happen till later in the comics. I still think it would be a good way to end the movie. Especially if you have him narrating it from the beginning of the movie. Because having any narration being done by Ken would just be too painful. You could even start the movie with him standing out on the rooftop at dawn after just awakening from the suit's instruction. He says out loud "I understand now..." and then you fade to the flashback starting with his capture, enslavement and onto finding the armor and fighting the aliens with it all the way till he is mad at the end of not knowing or understanding and asks the suit to help him. Then you get back to the point where the movie started and finish with him speaking excellent English and knowing the years that have past and understanding his new situation. Cue credits and end the movie leaving them wanting more.

Which of course you later provide by way of the sequel showcasing his battles with maybe Sniper (or X-Calibre or whatever he's called) for a small menace before dealing with Ax for the main villain of the movie. Throw in a crossover talk with Harada after the Sniper fight and you do like Marvel is doing with cross pollination of their movies and tying them together into a universe smartly.

I'd also love to see other Valiant characters in many other formats large screen, small screen, and even animated. Weird thing would be if you've got some live action and some animated, what do you do when they do Unity? Mix the live action and animation? Probably not, but it just popped into my head that way for a second and I thought I'd share.

After the XO end credits roll, you show Harada in his office recruiting Sniper to go after Aric in the sequel, heh.

(by then the Harbinger movie will have already come out).

X-O and then Magnus would be the best movies if they had massive budgets.

With an average budget Harbinger is the best movie option followed by Shadowman and Bloodshot.

I think Eternal Warrior or Archer and Armstrong would be great as an ongoing TV series.

A&A as a weekly live action would be easy to pull off, John Goodman as Armstrong Ewan McGregor as Archer.

I believe that the closest the actor is to the character the better, so maybe an American actor close to the region Archer was born in should play him while a foreign actor from close to Turkey should play Aram (who is a Turk).
