Hello Hello
Hey everyone, I just happened into this site today and I about crapped my pants to find a whole group of fellow Valiant lovers like myself. I've just spent most of the afternoon (missing most of my classes) reminiscing of all the time I spent buried in these comics. Anyway I'm not going to waste my first post on my day, so keeping with the subject, here's my valiant story.
I stared getting into comics around age 10-11 with such Marvel stapels like Spiderman and the Punisher, but by age 13 (which was 94, sorry if I made anyone feel old) I started to look for other comics and characters. Believe it or not, my dad is into comics almost as much as me and we were in one of the local comic shops in San Antonio and just out of curiosity picked up a copy of Turok and Eternal Warrior to see what they were about. We were hooked and we stayed hooked until VH-1 saw its untimely end. Our favorites from the era where by far EW, Turok, XO, Magnus and Solar, but we read a lot of Ninjak and Archer as well. When VH-2 rolled around we stayed with them but we were both disappointed in the way the comics were retooled and the direction they were headed in, (with the major exception of Quantum and Woody, I LOVED Q+W) we kept collecting until VH-2 finally met it's end and have missed both universes since they went bye, bye. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Exactly!! I got my comics after being out of it for 10 years, discovered that my favorites in my collection were the Valiants....discovered that my whole collection is pretty much worthless.....and discovered that would allow me to collect all the Valiants that I didn't have....and discovered this site.....now I'm screwedRicomortis wrote:no..don't keep reading...turn your head and run while you still can. Ok this response is a bit long but please bare with me...dino wrote:Where did you get that avatar, dantheman?
It's wicked!
There's a trend going on the internet right now where people are making miniature animations of superhero's. I just joined a group on yahoo of people who make them. I'm currently looking for some graphics software to make them, and so far haven't found any yet (though I haven't been looking really hard). Anyway to make a long story short, I found out about this and started looking for Valiant guys and have only found XO. So I'm using him... here’s the link for his pic if anyone else wants to use him for their avatar.

and here's the link for the lilguyz as they are sometimes called.. if anyone wants to make some of the Valiant heroes, I'd love to see them. I'll try to make some when I can get the right software...

Very cool... and welcome to the messageboard!
I tried something similar a while back...
using the 'base characters' from Nintendo games (like Street Fighter)
and altered them in a graphics tool into our favorite characters.
I think they're called "sprites" on some sites.
I thought I had a post of these on the messageboard,
but that might have been before the "crash" of late-Jan 2004.
Here are the ones that I made "way back when"...

And I apologize ahead of time, but i've forgotten who got me started making these,
but I remember it was whoever made these Shadowmen:
