newuniversal: shockfront ~ coming in May

6 issue mini:
Written by WARREN ELLIS
Penciled by STEVE KURTH
Cover by BRANDON PETERSON
Initially, there were four: A Starbrand. A Nightmask. A Justice. A Cipher. They are manifestations of god-like power on Earth, chosen by the Universe. In the wake of the cosmic phenomenon that empowered them, they have been threatened, hunted, and attacked. And now, they’re about to discover that they’re not alone. Acclaimed writer WARREN ELLIS (THUNDERBOLTS) and artist STEVE KURTH (LAST OF THE MOHICANS) bring you the return of this new universe: one experiencing superhuman power for the first time.

Awesome stories. Can't wait for the new ones starting in May. Hopefully they won't do 6 issues and take 6 months off again...

CanNOT wait...
Honestly speaking here... I collect "New Universe" but I have not read more than two issues. (I like to collect everything and then sit down and read it) But what I get out of anything NU is that Valiant feeling, so here hopefully soon, I will be able to sit down and read brand new material (for me) and now there is LITERALLY brand new material coming out in the future... good times, people... good times.

Don't feel bad. I dropped the "new' New Universal series after issue #1, it had me going 'HUH?' alotRyan wrote:arrgh. I hate to be so negative, but I just read issue 1 and I give it a big fat meh.
Writing and art both failed to impress, and I can't say that I really care where this story is going (is it going anywhere?).
sorry to be a party pooper, but I'm dropping this series.

I couldn't agree with you more on that.Draco wrote:Im still trying to fill the original 80's stuff.
Maybe then ill give it a go, but i would rather Marvel just picked up the old one and gave us something from there.

I was very pleased when they published the one-shots. Sooner or later, maybe we'll get something from the original New Universe again.

i was more than pleased with the one shots and the back ups in Amazing Fantasy too.
They have a history so god only knows why they persist in trying the whole revamp thing all the time.
Bring em back you crazy fools and leave the revamp alone already.

Send me your 80's stuff needs list... in my quest for these books, I have doubles upon doubles that I am more than willing to part with at no cost to you.Draco wrote:Im still trying to fill the original 80's stuff.

Re: newuniversal: shockfront ~ coming in May
I re-read the first newuniversal mini, and the 2 one-shots as well as the two issues of shockfront in the past couple of days.
The stories have some flaws, certainly, but it felt a lot fresher than so much stuff from the big two, and that is from the books being 6-8 years old. I so wish that Marvel/Tom Breevort had shown more of a will to get Shockfront finished when Ellis finally sorted out the time to revisit the work that he had apparently lost to computer issues.

VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Typical Ellis, whatever the reason. He jumps from concept to concept.

Valiant is the son of the New Universe.
