Ebay free shipping for board members
Now it's my turn to vent.
I'm fine with waving the shipping fee when board members win my ebay auctions for Valiant Issues, but when your direct response after winning one of my auctions is an email with nothing more than "free shipping?" I'm taken back by that.
In fact, I find it rather rude. Maybe it's my farmboy upbringing, but how about asking an actual question about whether or not I'll offer free shipping instead of just two words? Besides, a 5$ auction win and requesting free shipping? Seriously. It's gonna cost me almost that much to ship the books, so you're getting something for almost free.
Maybe I just took it the wrong way? Maybe I'm still new to the whole Ebay world, in fact, I am still new to the whole ebay thing.
Venting complete. sorry to be a doush

See, and now I do feel like a douschbag even if i can't spell it. My point is that I felt a little blind sided by the two worded question. i know there's a bit of board bashing going around with some other sellers and i didn't want to say "no free shipping" and be one of those ebay sellers that i see get bashed. I'm just finding out that it's a pretty penny to ship comics on ebay especially when I wanna get the books to you in the condition I have them in. Meaning, packing the books in really good to make sure they're not bent when they arrive. 4 ounces of comics will end up being close to a pound after i pack the backing boards in.
maybe I'm just in an off mood and took that the totally wrong way.
Now I feel like even more of a jerk but it's gonna cost me more to ship them the way i want to then what they actually sold for.

You're not a doosh. Don't worry.
I think the board does not even allow *SQUEE* to be spelled properly. See?
NOBODY on this board should expect free shipping from somebody else. When folks offer it, it is usually to help a little with the "hook up a fellow board member" aspect of this place. $50 book with free shipping? Cool. A three dollar book with free shipping, not so much.
Nobody is gonna bash you for not offering free shipping on your ebay auctions. It's unreasonable to expect that.
When we bash an ebay seller on here, it is because they truly deserve it, like vikescomics, or this tool that Gavster just ran into. These people are being unreasonably hostile, or fraudulant, or something like that.

No problem for not wanting to give free shipping. You don't have to give offers, heck you only sell here and there; theres no way to 'make it up' else where. I think its being a d ouche to ASK for it on a $5 book given the new postal prices (albeit, not alot, but still...)!
If you give in because someone else gives free shipping and you feel you have to,THATS when i think your a d ouch, and a sheep!
DON'T BE A SHEEP, THINK FOR YOURSELF!

But when someone offers, it is a very nice gesture.
Nice gestures ARE NOT forgotten around here.
I would never ask and if offered i would have trouble accepting unless i spent a stack.
I think dbostejano realised he had not thought this through and rectified it real quick so alls good here.
