Yup the baby was indeed Cable that got sent off to the future. Even tho the book wasn't as hot as it used to be, it still sells for an average of $5 - $10. Wizard still list the book between $18 - $20.Ghetto D wrote:I seem to recall Uncanny 201 being in the Wizard Top 10 for about 5 years straight.
Seriously, was the kid Cable?

How about Hulk 377? The neon grenn cover. That book was selling like crazy at one time. It still is a great run of Hulk by Dale.
X-Men 281 was big for a while due to Bishop by died down to nothing.
Amazing Spiderman 361 was hot because of Carnage.

Preacher Preview...I'm still looking for someone to give me a straight answer. I've got one, and I know that it was a b+w freebie. I know that most of them were trashed along with thousands of other Direct Currents and Inside Images. But is it his first appearance or not? Regardless, it is very rare in high grade (or maybe I'm just saying that because I've got a CGC 9.6!).Vertigo Preview #1 "1st" app Preacher

It's just a sample of the first few pages of Preacher.
If Detective #26 and Action #....something, both of which have full house ads for Batman aren't considered HIS 1st app..then neither is this.

It's not original material, after all, even if it's material that appears first.
Ya dig?

The Preacher Preview is an 8-page color cover, black and white insides freebee which was put out with Inside Images, VVoices, etc. It is comic book sized and CGC-able. I'll be interested to see which jumps the most when the movie comes out...AV, Preview, or Preacher #1. It could suffer from the "1st appearance of Hellboy" syndrome.
Then again, I'm a big Detective Comics #26, Hulk #180, Spidey #298 supporter.

They're kinda fun to read just to see how Larsen modified them when he started the Dragon (and other) series at Image (Cause he used a LOT of ideas that he had since he was a kid, in modified form).Rai-fan wrote:How about the Megaton "first appearances" of Youngblood & Savage Dragon. Anyone still care about those?
And the early Youngblood is interesting to see since the one depicted in a poster in Megaton was eventually used for the "away team" and Liefeld's aborted Team Titans proposal was used for the "home team."
But it's probably not as in demand as it was in... say, 1993 or something.

That X-Factor issue (and certain ones after) is worth picking up just to read the Peter David run. But probably not at early 90's prices.tanord wrote:X-Factor 71 New Team
Also, all of the early Image overprinted stuff. Zorro from Topps Comics and Lady Rawhide, and practically all of the Alien appearances in Dark Horse. The Funeral for a Friend Superman issues don't sell for much either.

And with that said I see today that Marvel is soliciting a Toxin miniseries. For those unaware Toxin is the spawn of Carnage but seems to a 'good'guy...The Spider wrote:Probably. Hey, was there a quick peak at Batman in DC 26? I don't remember if this comic was ever hot, but the first appearance of Bishop was Uncanny 282 (I think) where he was on the cover but then didn't appear in the story until the last page. Very weird.
