Is there like a http link I can use instead of the button?

If I use mozilla, I get a new browser window and a small selection of smiley options, but no actual chat.

If I use ie, the window closes as soon as I click on the chat button.

Same thing; if I click the link using Mozilla, I get a new window and small choice of smileys, but no chat. If I cut and paste into ie, it closes the window.

Get an IRC channel!

I know two good IRC servers: irc.chatspike.net and irc.coldfront.net, I frequent both and know how to set up everything about an IRC channel, I am a moderator for several channels on both servers. I suggest you use chatspike though.
