So...I wanted to go to NYCC, but timing and flight costs were just too crazy.

But, BTE called me the other day and told me about this, and since I have family and stuff that needs to be done up north, I'll be there for this, both days probably.

Me n' BTE will be hanging out, probably having dinner on Saturday night. Anyone in the area should come hang out at least one day.

(Chuck, you're coming, right??)

You'll probably want to avoid piano recitals.

You know, I never gave it much thought before. :hm:

But when you combine the height of the stilettos worn by the average piano recital performer
with the height of our beloved BTE, you can see why BTE's particular
view of the world might be advantageous. He's eye-level with happy melodies.

Sounds like she's pre-paying for whenever the Chippendales come to town.

Sounds like a fair trade to me!

Chippendales only comes through once every... I don't know the interval, but it's always happy hour at Cassidy's.

Well, if you're there, you should have dinner with us.

I have no idea where to eat, not having lived in the Bay Area for 11 years now....but so far it's:

Like I was telling BTE, I gotta go to a Taekwondo Tournment on Saturday (can't make the con...ggrrrrrrr  ), but I might be able to make it to dinner. As the con nears just keep me in the loop :thumb:

All I know about San Jose is that it is south of where I live and that more men live there than women. Hopefully someone else will know where we can go for dinner.

Or we can just wing it.

Last year was the only year I have been to Super-Con, it is a smaller show, and is really nice. This means, not a long line ot get in and not really crowded, like the bigger shows are. There weren't many (if any) quarter and fifty cent bins, but there were plenty of dollar bins.

I seem to remember a dealer that sold almost exclusively dollar books. Sorry I'm not great at guessing how many he had....umm maybe 70 of them? (his whole space had tables of books). I think several others offered similar dollar deals. This year shouldn't be any different.

I'm a cheap *SQUEE*. I pass on dollar books but I'll take the bait on .25 cent comics or if someone is selling books for 3 for a dollar. Sadly, you don't see sales like that anymore.

They used to be a staple of shows like Wonder-con and Super-con. With the price of tables going up at shows it's it's easy to see why we don't see them anymore.

If so, you should have dinner with us!
