My Valiant Story
I am 36 years old, so I was in college for what you would call the early 90s big print run period of comics; Death of Superman and all that. I believe I picked up a few of the early Valiant books, but like many became interested when Unity was announced and started scrambling to get a full set of pre-Unity books including the Harbinger issues with coupons. I have a full set of Valiant books, including the, umm, not as good VH2 stuff... even some WindJammer and Armada stuff, which I think fell under the Acclaim banner. I loved the Valiant focus on continuity and story vs. Image's well, focus on image only. I tried to convert many people to Valiant and had hoped for toys, tv shows, movies, etc. and it looked on its way until everything imploded with Acclaim etc. as we all know.
Anyway, I am new to the boards but a big Valiant fan. With all the new activity I have begun to re-read the books, am listening to the Only the Valiant podcast and am ready to go. Maybe I can finally get some new Valiant toys for my basement to go along with all the Star Wars stuff... and my Goat in-action figure!
I am not sure what board to ask this on... but what do you think the odds of Valiant Entertainment re-acquiring Solar and Magnus is to make things complete, so to speak? Also regarding the re-boot, I hope they acknolwedge VH1, largely dismiss VH2, republish these books to catch new fans up and continue with continuity in large part from there.
Go Valiant! Have not been this excited about anything in comics for 10 years!

Re: My Valiant Story
No one knows for sure what the status is going to be with Magnus and Solar later on down the road. VEI hasn't said anything either way on the subject. I would like to think that if there were no chance they would have just come out and said so by now.spindustry wrote:I am not sure what board to ask this on... but what do you think the odds of Valiant Entertainment re-acquiring Solar and Magnus is to make things complete, so to speak?

I do have a complete run on Acclaim Valiant Heroes as well, through and including Unity #3.Elveen wrote:Hola compadre!
Welcome, you have found the right place.
Do you have a complete Acclaim run of the books? If so, you are in an elite club.
I have a few Windjammer and Armada that I collected solely thinking they might crossover because there was some link from a Turok book to one of the Windjammer titles... yeah, Acclaim should have focused on keeping one universe in line - not trying to manage 4 - but there were games and cards to sell

Sorry to sound like such a noob but give me an example of the variants? I am sure there is a post describing what you mean... I don't think I had any Gold Books, although I did meet Shooter and Lapham and have Harbinger #1 signed by both and Harbinger 1-10 signed by David Lapham (sp?). But give me an example of the variants or where to find a list and I'll check...Daniel Jackson wrote:Did you manage to snag any of the variants?spindustry wrote:I do have a complete run on Acclaim Valiant Heroes as well, through and including Unity #3.Elveen wrote:Hola compadre!

I need to review some other boxes for some of the Turoks, but I think my only variant is the Shadowman Vol 3 # 2 VARIANT which I have, and I don't have the original.Daniel Jackson wrote:No problem, I'll list a few links to the pics on the site.spindustry wrote:Daniel Jackson wrote:Did you manage to snag any of the variants?spindustry wrote:I do have a complete run on Acclaim Valiant Heroes as well, through and including Unity #3.Elveen wrote:Hola compadre!
