To summarize, shilling was involved and there was also something wrong with the book. The person who consigned it to Silver Age WAS a long time poster at CGC. He's now banned from the site.

they looked at the bids...and noticed that (even thought the middle letters are ***) the beginning and end letters matched in numerous spots for each of 19 different auctions...it's back somewhere on pages 150 or 152 or somesuch...I skipped back to the end and then backtracked to find some of it...siren3-4 wrote:No way can I read through 156 pages . . . how did they find out he was shilling ??myron wrote:yeah...shilling up to a $95000 reserve...what a scam artist...hope he/they get prosecuted.Escaflown4 wrote:Here you go guys, it's 156 pages long. Thanks myron . . that's just bad business . . . use a reserve if you don't want a book to sell too cheap . . .myron wrote:they looked at the bids...and noticed that (even thought the middle letters are ***) the beginning and end letters matched in numerous spots for each of 19 different auctions...it's back somewhere on pages 150 or 152 or somesuch...I skipped back to the end and then backtracked to find some of it...siren3-4 wrote:No way can I read through 156 pages . . . how did they find out he was shilling ??myron wrote:yeah...shilling up to a $95000 reserve...what a scam artist...hope he/they get prosecuted.Escaflown4 wrote:Here you go guys, it's 156 pages long.
