I know Greg did alot of work and research for his guide (and I appreciate it), but all it is good for is when board members want to buy from other people. But when they want to sell, Greg's guide is suddenly invalid and we have to track recent ebay sales. (see the thread where I tried to buy a set of acclaim recently and was called an idiot for the price I offered, WHich was Greg's guide almost exactly!!!)Squirrel wrote:Sorta looks like a lopsided deal![]()
According to Gregs guide -
Harbinger 0 pink = $45.00
Archer and Armstrong 0 gold =$24.00
Eternal Warrior 1 gold = $25.00
Eternal Warrior 1 flat gold = $30.00
TOTAL = $119.00
Unity RED = $55.00
a diffrence of - $64.00![]()

I see Unity red sell on ebay for 75 to 100 dollars and the others sell for 25 each. There is no unity red on ebay right now and multiple copies of the other books.
So to get it from me, I would want as many of the books as i can get.

I hear you Smash.
I use Greg's guide for sale and trade. For trade is value the books exactly at GG. When I sell, I try to do around %25 off, but it does depend on the book.

I don't know about that...NM copies of A&A and the EW's are pretty sought after and pricey, the most of any of the golds. In fact, many consider a CGC 9.8 A&A Gold or EW Flat more valuable than a Unity Red 9.8.GJB wrote:I think your point is valid. If your Unity Red is NM, I honestly don't think it"s a bad deal. As much as we all love Harbinger 0 pink, it is fairly common. Same goes for the Gold books you're looking for. I wouldn't buy any gold book for more than $10 after seeing the hoards that are out there.

I personally would value a Unity Red over any Gold book. But I will agree that A&A gold and EW gold are the two top gold books.GGSAE wrote:I don't know about that...NM copies of A&A and the EW's are pretty sought after and pricey, the most of any of the golds. I think that Harby Pink is below the Untiy Red and maybe slightly above the A&A and EW gold, but not by much.
IMO.

(and you have to compare apples to apples. Guide for the acclaims is a guess. Guide for the Valiants is well established with many, many years of sales data to support it.)

If we're talking ungraded copies of those books, I still feel the same way. If you say the books are cgc 9.8 graded, then that's a different story. Just my thoughts.......which aren't always correct btw.GGSAE wrote:I don't know about that...NM copies of A&A and the EW's are pretty sought after and pricey, the most of any of the golds.
