As for Vietnam, most of my family got out before 1975 (the fall of Saigon), but yeah, $hit really hit the fan. Was born missing my left arm just below the elbow, and was called "Lefty" alot, but when I started racing BMX back in the early 80's my bikes were always painted black due to the fact that I love Smokey and The Bandit. 1 and 1 make 2 I guess. I've been using a variation of the nickname for 20+ years, and also had 1RMBNDT on my license plate for 8 years. BTW, my hot-rods are still black.

I've always been a fan of Smokey and the Bandit too. I would have loved having one of the special edition Bandit TA's that Pontiac came out with back then. I had to settle for a silver 10th Anniversary edition instead. It was an awesome car and I loved the full bird on the hood (super fast too). Alas, sold it when I got married.OneArmedBandit wrote:Was born missing my left arm just below the elbow, and was called "Lefty" alot, but when I started racing BMX back in the early 80's my bikes were always painted black due to the fact that I love Smokey and The Bandit. 1 and 1 make 2 I guess. For me, yeah cuz I'm lazy and you have to hold down the shift key for the capital letters. Since I know the story on your name, I'll do ZWH from now on. I thought you were insane and actually thought that the character was a good thing. Worst thing to happen to Harby IMHO.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:easier than ZWH?Chuck wrote:Hey Zeph,

Little Trivia, If you're German or Polish then my name phontically "oma" means Grandma. Grandpa is Ompa
But my name, which I didn't receive until my second birthday, omm'A is derived from the Hindu mantra that alot of cultures hummm when they meditate. OMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. So the name means the Vibration or "Sound of the Universe"
Before 2 they just called my baby brother.
