I would say that was a good price even in the slump. I would have had no problem paying that price.JLThorpe wrote:At a convention in 2002, I found a Magnus #12 for I believe 50 cents. Not sure how much it went for back then, but I remember how hot that book was in the 90s and was a little surprised to see it.

The lowest I remember seeing a #12 for in a back issue bin was 5 bucks.

I remember when I first got into comics (only about 8-10 years ago) there used to be 10p boxes or 12 for a £1... those were the days. Could go home with 60 comics for a fiver... admittedly it was a lot of *SQUEE*... but its also the way I got a vast majority of my valiants. Sadly theres begger all indie comic shops about now... just forbidden planet *spits in disgust*
Hey Draco I notice your in the UK and seem to sell by your chat, do you have a website?

Or the ones who take a big magic marker and put a bigggggg mark across the top of all the books....Daniel Jackson wrote:It really makes you wonder what is going on inside the head of someone that sells comics, when they knowingly do things like that.imagesowner2 wrote:The quarter bins here in town are at the Great Escape but they put the price stickers right on the comic so i don't buy there. ruins the book.

I found a Magnus #12 at a local con in 2003.....nearly beat the VEI Chief Creative Officer when he tried to horn in...JLThorpe wrote:At a convention in 2002, I found a Magnus #12 for I believe 50 cents. Anyone in Baton Rouge, LA area—GEAUX TIGERS!—looking for Valiant’s?
BJ at Baker comics on Florida has a ton of the post-Unity middle year books in his 50 cent bins. There are also a large number of post-Unity later year books through the early Acclaim numbers for 50% off or less. Looking through the regular stock I saw an Eternal Warrior #1 (of which I should go back for and buy) and Harbinger #8 & 9. Further, I suspect that there may be more Unity and even pre-Unity comics in stock if you ask.
And by the way, BJ bags and boards even the discounted books so most of what you find should be in decent shape.
May not be the best find in the world but if you need a few later issues it may be worth stopping for.

East Tennessee sucks now in my mind. I have never seen any .25 bins. The best I ever got was when I work at a local comic shop I took my 20% discount and put it one the dollar books. But, let me tell you the owner was mad when he found out. Ha ha ha ha. So, I paid .80.
