Bob Almond show info/ Inkwell Awards

Post by Bob Almond »

Forgive me for not posting in the 'events' or 'conventions' sections but I need as much traffic support as possible.

Trying to stay 'on-topic' I wanted to announce for those interested that I'll be in artist alley at the NYCC April 18-20 in case you want me to sign your Acclaim Bloodshots or the VEI Harbinger: the Beginning HCs (I inked the Bob Hall interior cover). I'll be at the Pittsburgh Comicon the following weekend. If you have any penciled commissions with Valiant (any) characters feel free to hire me to ink them.

Now if you don't mind I'd like to plug this press release for my awards event.
As a strictly comic book industry production bi-product, the craft of inking has been often misunderstood and even maligned by the fans and comic community. With this event and our site we hope to bring some recognition to if not appreciation for the work of these artists who often fall below the radar, and, of late, have been receiving less attention and credit than previously acknowledged. Being our first year, any support at all would be much-appreciated. And you can vote for your Valiant inker favorites;-)

Please LMK if you have any questions.

Thanks much!
Sincerely,
Bob Almond

Cool announcement.

I learned a lot about how much an inker effects the finished work at last year's Super-Con in San Jose, CA. They had a pencilled piece by Frank Cho, and got about 20 different inkers to ink it. Each one had a different look to it, though it was the same image. It was very cool, and gave me a newfound respect for inkers.

It's just too bad I can't make it to NYCC..

Ugh. Sorry. Not unless you're going to that area around April 12 when I do a signing at That's Entertainment in Worcestor, MA with the rest of my QUASAR crew Christos Gage and Mike Lilly.

I am hoping to attend Heroes Con down south in Charlotte in June....does that count;-)

Best,
Bob Almond
