1,000's of Valiant back issues at $.25 each!

Post by elyhekrue »

So I visit one of my local comic retailers today and they have recently announced they are going out of business. Well, since I'm just getting back into comics, and have had a deep love of Valiant for years, I decide to head over there and check out what they have.

Almost every back issue they have is marked down to $.25! So I spend the next 90 minutes going through all their back issues and find a TON of Valiant comics. Now, I'm not a wealthy man, so I didn't go too crazy, but I did get $66.50 worth of issues, I'll let you do the math. There were some great variants that I picked up for $5 or less including X-O #15 Pink, Unity Gold and Platinum, and Rai #9 Gold.

The thing is, none of the regular issues I picked up were unique, they had more of everything! I have no idea if they would ship to you, or even dig through it all for you, but if you are in the area I would suggest you check it out. The place is called Comics & Things, they are located at the Holland Plaza Shopping Center in Virginia Beach, VA. and you can call them at 757-486-5870.

Happy hunting!

Sounds like a Valiant lovers dream come true. If this happened to me I would have to pinch myself to make sure I was not asleep.

I have also visited this store for the sale. In the past few weeks I have picked up a lot of good Valiant books. I found copies of Magnus 64, Turok 47, Eternal Warrior 50, Bloodshot: Last Stand, and a whole mess of gold editions to top it off and other top notch books. :)

I very much doubt it though if they will go through it for you. I tried to get them to let me go through stuff they had in the back and it was a no go. I also asked them if they had certain stuff and if they could check it out for me and I was again turned down. There is no real order to a lot of the books so it's almost a scavenger hunt in the boxes.

There are still lots of Valiants in there to choose from though. In fact I have also botices some Broadway and Defiant books in there for those interested in them.

I also have been there about 3 times in the past 2 weeks and have picked up about 200 Valiants at .25 cents each. My best finds was a Magnus #3 no card though but still a quarter. Many, many, many near the end issues of all the titles and a lot of the Volume 2 Acclaim Valiants. Its thinned out pretty good now on the absolute best stuff, but you could easily still find 100 issues to add to your collection easy and only spend $25 doing it. :thumb:

I was able to get these off the wall:

Unity 0 Red for $16
Rai 9 vvss for $2.28
X-O Database 1 vvss $6.50
Magnus 0 with card $6.50

I am hoping he marks the books down again before he closes shop so I can dig in more on what he has. They are suppose to stay open now until Febuary instead of closing this weekend.

He did have a copy of Rai 3 and 4 I was thinking about getting but opted not to. And it's a good thing. I went to Comic Chest, also in VA Beach, and got them both for $5 each.

Na, Seattle's got all the Valiants :P

Great score guys, especially good that so many board members were able to get some great deals and save some Valiants from a bleak future. Congrats!
