Jack is the fourth immortal brother.ManofTheAtom wrote:Yeah, that happens when talking about the death of Jack.Asharad wrote:I haven't be around here long, but it doesn't take long to see there are some foul attitudes here. Wow.
Most people here want him to live forever, except me. I'd rather that the story was resolved.

That is because you have not had to deal with the circular thinking of a certain individual.Asharad wrote:I haven't be around here long, but it doesn't take long to see there are some foul attitudes here. Wow.
An individual that cause SO MANY problems on this board that he was BANNED and even was so bad that he had a LAW named after himself. A law that was not created as a joke.... how embarrassing is that ?

SAD... but true. Now this is the person you are dealing with and perhaps said fowl attitudes being the fallout of years of frustration with ONE person. Heck, he is even starting to argue with you on the topic and pretty soon you will be talked down to because you 'obviously cannot understand what he has written' or 'lack the ability to read what was written in post #2 and post #20 of this thread'. Hell or high water it will come. And I beg someone to convince me otherwise.

Wait until MOTA disagrees with you and accuses you of wanting DC-lite with a Goat on first name terms...blah...blah...Asharad wrote:I haven't be around here long, but it doesn't take long to see there are some foul attitudes here. Wow.
If you disagree with him, it tends to happen. Seriously. Also, don't forget his uncanny ability to know what you want or think, even when you have not posted anything along the lines of what he insists you think or believe. And finally, when losing a debate he ususally throws out insults ('morons' in this very thread) or simply doesn't rerespond because he has no logical argument with which to do so. Please don't feel too sorry for him.

You're the idiot that didn't understand the comics when he read them.dellamorte wrote:If I had a say I would want Hall to do the death of Shadowman. Does that mean it's the only option? What I want and what is possible are two very different things. That is the part you fail to understand.ManofTheAtom wrote:You claim to want Hall to write the comics, yet now you want the stories to contradict the very things he set up.dellamorte wrote:The problem is, and I'm not going to say this more than once, you are the only one who believes all of that. Everyone else sees shades of gray and all you see is black and white.
Of course there is more than one possible outcome. I believe in Valiant and the strong continuity. I believe dead is dead. But this story has yet to be told so who the *SQUEE* knows what happens.
You are a hypocrite.
Why do you want Hall to write the stories if you don't want him to follow through with what he started?
He has said that he would have killed Jack.
I don't think anyone has ever said Jack did not die in 1999, they said it is possible that he lived. Two very different things.
If I'm a hypocrite, you are an idiot.
Read them again, and try to understand them.
Neither Jack nor Darque can survive without Darque Power. Darque because he's linked to Sandria, who needs it to live, and Jack because without it he can't heal from his injuries.
Unless you think that the event will be a bland battle in which the worst that Jack will get is a paper cut...

Exactly.Heath wrote:Yes there are workarounds with time travel and such that could keep Jack alive or create the need for a new Shadowman, but that would cheapen the story of Jack Boniface and his sacrifice and the Valiant idea of continuity.
Keeping him is alive is fan service, it doesn't do anything for the story.

In the previous page I suggested a four issue, 48-page, mini series where each issue covers one year from 96 to 99 in a story told in flashback framed by a story in the present during the 10th anniversary of Jack's death.robb77 wrote:well its limited to a hundred or even better a 6 issue eires shadowman the end and be done with it

Hmmm... dramatically it sounds good to have a cliffhanger, but it might also feel like padding, no?robb77 wrote:sound great maybe the last issue year 99 could be fleshed out into two issues with a cliffhanger in betweenManofTheAtom wrote:In the previous page I suggested a four issue, 48-page, mini series where each issue covers one year from 96 to 99 in a story told in flashback framed by a story in the present during the 10th anniversary of Jack's death.robb77 wrote:well its limited to a hundred or even better a 6 issue eires shadowman the end and be done with it

I don't disagree, but I think that the project should fit the needs of the story, not be sales-driven.robb77 wrote:come on its the death of shadowman you have to give him a good sending offManofTheAtom wrote:Hmmm... dramatically it sounds good to have a cliffhanger, but it might also feel like padding, no?robb77 wrote:sound great maybe the last issue year 99 could be fleshed out into two issues with a cliffhanger in betweenManofTheAtom wrote:In the previous page I suggested a four issue, 48-page, mini series where each issue covers one year from 96 to 99 in a story told in flashback framed by a story in the present during the 10th anniversary of Jack's death.robb77 wrote:well its limited to a hundred or even better a 6 issue eires shadowman the end and be done with it

It's not about diminishing Jack, it's about the concept not requiering a third Shadowman.Asharad wrote:I'd love a new Shadowman as much as I love Jack. The existance of Rai does not diminish the existance of Bloodshot, so don't be silly saying another Shadowman is a bad idea.
PS - I'm smitten with Nettie. Voodoo priestest for teh win!
Shadowmen were created for the sole purpose of destroying Master Darque. Since both Darques died in 99 when Jack rid the world of the Darque Power, who would this third Shadowman fight?
