That's a fan-based theory only. In the comics, Jack died in 99 riding the world of the Darque Power, that is canon no different than saying that Aric Dacia stole the Spider Alien's armor.
Let's do a completely OFF TOPIC mental experiment, MotA.

Let's just say, hypothetically, that I was from the future.

Now, I, being from the future, know that you die in a plane crash on the way to Comic-Con in 2009.

Now, hypothetically, I TELL YOU that you die in this way, and you believe me, because you know that it is true that I am from the future.

Would you think about ways to NOT die in an airplane crash on the way to Comic-Con in 2009?

A simple yes or no should suffice.

I know this is off topic to the discussion at hand, but I am curious as to your answer.

Sory, but that's a hypothetical that doesn't work with me as I believe that the future is already written.

Today, 2008, may be our present, but it's also the future for the Jewish prisoners during World War II, Kelly Clarkson on American Idol during Season 1, or Regan before he got shot, just like it's also the past for 2009 2021, or 4001.

If time could be changed, don't you think that sometime in the future would get in a time machine and go back to the 1940's to stop the Holocaust?

I mean, take this as seriously as your hypothetical.

If time was mutable, we would have never even known what the Holocaust was, we would have never even known who Hitler was.

Seriously, if time was mutable, someone 1,000 years from now would have already gone back in time to put a bullet in Hitler's head, right?

Some people think that there is no such thing as the future, that all there is is what came before and now, that time is like a pencil drawing a line on a piece of paper, with where the line begins representing the present and the line that it leaves behind representing the past.

I don't agree with that theory.

For me, history has already been written, and the present is more like a car in a highway, leaving the past behind it and driving towards the future in front of it.

I'm going further off topic.....Let's say hypothetically that I am going to Vegas in Arpil of 2009 and I had about $1000 on me. Who would you recommend that I bet to win the World Series? Hypothetically speaking, Mr. Future. :P

You know you aren't going to get a yes or no on this.

That's according to Rai 0. According to Unity, Jack dies in 99.

No, according to Unity. During Unity, he found out that he was going to die in 99, and nothing in the comics ever contradicted that.

Pre-Unity records.
Let's say that I agreed with that, and that the records from Unity were rendered invalid after Unity.

That still leaves Jack's second, POST Unity, encounter with Elya, in which she reiterated that he was going to die in 99 and used the legend of his return to create the Cult of Shadowman.

Any records from 99 she used during that time, would have been written POST Unity, meaning that if Jack could have used the knowledge from Unity to advert his death she would have found out.

There is no record of Jacks death after Unity...Only Elya's information that comes from a Pre-Unity time-line.

And if that information had not been true Post Unity, she would have told Jack when they met again.

You seem to think that she wouldn't have checked to see if warning Jack that he was going to die had changed history.

Not whilst a certain someone's thinking remains so entrenched. His response to the time travel paradox posed by Dr Solar shows the shortcomings in this.

Dr Solar didn't suggest that time is mutable, he offered a 'what if time was mutable', and how did MOTA respond? Well he (once again) ignored what was posted and inferred whatever suited his dogmatic stance to rail against.

As he always will. I understand how easy it is to get dragged into this arguement with him, I've done it myself more than once. In the end I just remind myself that you can't win.

Bob Hall should write and draw Shadowman, starting with issue #44, set immediately following #43. Continue the story through to his death in 1999 (either at the same pace it would originally have been or slightly faster) and that be the end of it.

I don't know that I would be interested in anyone other than Bob Hall doing the book.

I think that a new ongoing series might be too much.

Say it began in 2009 and took the same four years to cover the timeframe from 1996 to 1999.

That means that the so-called 99 event would be published in 2013, 14 years later.

That's just too long.

I would settle for a four issue, 48-page per issue, mini series published in 2009 (10 years after Jack's death) that covered the event.

The story could begin during the commemoration of the anniversary of Shadowman's death in 2009, and in flashback tell us everything of importance that happened between those four years.

Each issue of the mini series could cover a year in the life of Jack Boniface (Issue #43 has a cover date of December 1995, so issue 1 of the mini series can cover all of 1996, issue 2 all of 1997, issue 3 all of 1998, and issue 4 from January to September of 1999).

It's perfect.
