I love my Bob Hall Shadowman as many know, but were he not available for a relaunch of VH1 (or at least VH1-esque) Shadowman, then what about:Ricomortis wrote:Shadowman...

If not Hall, I'd be happy with Serge Clermont.
I'd rather have a Brand-Name in the Making than the flavor of the month. Kirkman is very talented, but I think he's a bit thin. I remember whe Kurt Busiek was sick and quit writing ASTRO CITY for a while, but still cranked out his Marvel stuff. It wasn't bad, but he pretty much admitted he could phone in that kind of stuff, but not AC. he poured/pours his heart into AC. I'd be happy with any talented writer pouring his/her heart into VALIANT, whether I was a lifelong fan (you hear that, Kevin VanHook?!?!?) or had never heard of the person.

Or he could be a ghost detective.ManofTheAtom wrote:Jack Boniface died in 99.JustCallMeAric wrote:What are you guys talking about?
If he got his own series now he would need to be a zombie, so, yeah, Kirkman would be the right writer for it.
Or maybe someone that will write about this fictional character will decide that he didn't die in 1999.
No body, no death.

There were plenty of bodies in U2K, some of them were even zombies.Dr. Solar wrote:Or he could be a ghost detective.ManofTheAtom wrote:Jack Boniface died in 99.JustCallMeAric wrote:What are you guys talking about?

If Jack did not die in 99, then VEI isn't doing VALIANT comics, they're doing DC comics or Marvel comics, where characters never die and everything is lame.
It's kindda like when VALIANT hired Nicieza to edit VALIANT and he starting using DC and Marvel rules to turn it into VH 2.
VEI didn't buy DC, Marvel, Image, or some other lame universe where characters don't die, they bought VALIANT, where Jack Boniface died 9 years ago.

They will never make VALIANT comics. That is so 90's. I think that they will make Valiant comics.ManofTheAtom wrote:There were plenty of bodies in U2K, some of them were even zombies.Dr. Solar wrote:Or he could be a ghost detective.ManofTheAtom wrote:Jack Boniface died in 99.JustCallMeAric wrote:What are you guys talking about?

So far, with the Harbinger HC and upcoming X-O Manowar HC, they've shown an interest in doing VALIANT comics.
Have you read the Harbinger HC yet?

Well, that's the problem rigth there.Dr. Solar wrote:Yes. I am crazy. I would rather read a really cool new Shadowman story than to NOT read a new Shadowman story because of a few sentences that were in an old comic book 15 years ago.
There is nothing to stop VEI from doing Shadowman stories set between 94 and 99 (five years worth of time), which is something we've discussed before.
The problem is that you think that the only way the stories can work is if they are set in the here and now, which is not true.
Shadowman can have his own comic, set in that five year timeframe, AND still have died in 1999 so that everyone can win, but you're being more selfish, you want the character to stay alive 9 years past his DOD just so you can get what you want.
Of course, another viable option would be to do stories with the Mask of Shadows that focus on the people that get it after Jack died, which would be cool Shadowman stories in their own right.
A Shadowman story doesn't necessarily require Jack Boniface, who died in 99.

That's a fan-based theory only. In the comics, Jack died in 99 riding the world of the Darque Power, that is canon no different than saying that Aric Dacia stole the Spider Alien's armor.jedimarley wrote:Jack died in Erica's pre-Unity time line. That time line was changed because of the Unity.
