Do you seriously not know...?

Scarlet Spider nearly destroyed Spiderman....

And no, I don't mean in the figurative, story telling sense...

I mean he quite literally nearly destroyed Spiderman's appeal to the general public.....no small feat.

Haven't posted here in awhile, mostly because I haven't had any amazing deals, but I have a few that count I think...

Got the following in a trade. Gave my LCS about 200 books, and got a bunch of modern stuff I needed like Fables books for the better half, and some Flash I needed. But within all of it was:

Birds of Prey 8
Thrilling Adventure Stories (Tough Atlas 70's mag)
Savage Sword of Conan 2 & Ann. 1
Special Marvel Edition 15 (1st MOKF)
Iron Fist 12 (With Cap. America)
Flash 1 (DF edition signed by Ken Lashley)

Not too bad for a couple hundred misc books I couldn't have cared less about. ;) I have a CGC SS of the 1st MOKF in 7.0, but this coy is 8.5-9.0. Very happy about that. And, the Birds of Prey issue I've wanted for years. Not as good as Zeph's Albedo 2 deal, but this guy takes care of me. I help him at cons and ask nothing more than the free ride-along he gives me to get there, and he sometimes gives me good trades and first picks of stuff. So, I'm ticked!

Oh, and at the last con in Indianapolis, I picked up 6 different RRP and variant books that were worth about $20 or more each in some dollar bins. Thought that deserved honorable mention.

I STILL don't have a Birds of Prey #8...stupid fanboys keep that damn book $$$$

ARGH

And I think SME #15 should be a much more important book...it's the first appearance of Shang-Chi!

SHANG-CHI!!

AND, it's Starlin art!

I went to the local swap meet this morning. I am always on the lookout for Valiants, but I don't have much success. The ones I do find are commons in crappy condition. Today my luck changed. Here's what I got:

Magnus #1,3,3,4,5,5,6,7,8,13,14,15,16
Eternal Warrior #1,2,3,4,5
Shadowman #1(signed by Shooter?),2,3,4,5,6
Rai #1,5,8,8
Unity #0,1
A&A #0(signed by Shooter?),0,1,2
Solar #10,10(both second printing)

Valiant 'Quality is Absolute' poster

Anyone ever seen this poster before?

I got all of this out of six or so long boxes some guy had. He was selling a bunch of crap and happened to have a boat load of comics. I passed up on the chance to buy dozens of Rai #9 and Magnus #25. Maybe next time.

In total I payed $40 for all of this. I talked him down from $50. All the books are in NM condition and the Magnus books all have the cards in them.

What do you all think?

WOW. This is a great pick-up. The Mag #12 is worth that by itself.
