books graded at 0.0?
I had sent some books to be graded, and just got an email with the current status. Two of the books shows as being graded at "0.0", and the comment from CGC says:
"I see that two of your books were not encapsulated (grade 0.0) and this is usually due to an overhang. You will receive a credit on your account for the grading fees of those books which you can apply to a future submission."
It was on my Spectacular Spider-Man #1 and X-Men #121... which were both in FANTASTIC condition!
Has anyone seen this before? What does it mean?

I'm fairly confident there was no overhang on the spider-man... the X-men may have had one. It's just the first time I'd heard of it...DawgPhan wrote:It means that they didnt grade the books...or they graded them bt will not slab them because of the overhang on the book...They probably will not slab it because there is no way to ensure that the overhang doesnt get bent by the slab itself...at least that is what I think it means..
I've got an email into them right now asking to explain the specifics... I'll update when I get a response...

Dawg is right. Overhang sucks. Just trim it off.

I had it happened before when I sent in my first batch of books for submission. Basically they just return the book to you ungraded with a label on the bag/board saying "Do Not Encapsulate". Simply they do not want to risk damaging your book due to the overhang. Pity, the book they rejected was my ASM #238 which would have graded really high. Damn overhang!

Yeah this is a really dumb thing to do, for the record. I was not to be taken seriously.
I'm sure the fine minds at CGC are hard at work trying to solve the overhang problem.

awesome, now all they'd have to do is offer such a technological upgrade for the mere increase of say....$2.00 per slab..ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:CGC just needs to develop a stasis chamber wherein, through quantum particulate suspension, the book is held in place by anti-matter, and thus never physically touches anything at all. That would be the best way to solve the overhang dilemma....plus, it'd look really cool on top of a showcase.

Then again, if they were to assimilate nano technology into the slabing process as well, perhaps....oh, forget it, this science talk hurts my head

I had a friend of mine submit a Hulk #340 in New York when CGC was there in November. They denied because of overhang.I couldn't tell.I called CGC and asked why couldn't they just stick it in a Silver Age sized holder. They said they couldn't do it.I don't know what the difference would make.I resubmitted it,via through the mail & they graded it.Unfortunately I got shafted on it....I got the Harbinger 1 treatment...It looked like a 9.8 & it got a 9.4! No problem in tracking him down. My thing with him is that he is killing CGG. CGG main problem right now seems to come directly from this clown. They really need to focus on separating themselves from this guy. It is probably the most important thing they can do right now.Peter Parker wrote:Can we galvanize a large group of members in here, to seek out, and locate Ryo? so a good ol' fashioned asskicking can be administered to her![]()

Dawg...
Very good point my man, he is indeed doing much damage to that already questionable company
Zeph...I agree, completely :x Think its Danny Patterson in the cyber-flesh???
The fervor, and zeal to which he defends "cgg/pga/pgx/pg-changecomingsoon"... is quite suspecious
Bring it on he retorts....bahahahahahaha...I would lay down BIG dollars that ryo is a 5 ft twerp sitting on his daddies computer...BIG DOLLARS
Frankly, that's as solid a bet as I can imagine at the moment

What's up with the '5 ft' threshold for being 'short enough to whomp on'?
Why not 5'6"?
Someone said that to me the other day online, 'I bet you're a 5 ft twerp with short man's syndrome'
Oh, WAIT...it was TLC!
I laughed....as I have now met no less than...(counts)...THREE board members, all of whom can attest to my height...I am 6' on the dot.
