Re: Liefeld Cable variant cover
The perspective's pretty jacked up....look at Cable's left ankle and foot. The foot is considerably smaller than it should be, and if he's not careful, he's going to have a bad sprain.siren3-4 wrote:

Why does he have a monstrous shoulder pad on his right shoulder, but not his left? (Answer....to obscure his inability to correctly proportion human joints. See next paragraph.)
His right arm is also too long and/or too low. It seems to be disconnected from his shoulder (what we can see of it.) In any event, it's too far away from his head, in proportion to his left arm.
And what's the cape attached to? The middle of his back?
As well, the baby looks like a minituare adult, but most people have problems drawing babies correctly.
But...maybe, finally...he's trying to improve.

I mean, here they serve hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, stuff like that.
None of this dog poop on a stick that you keep mentioning (unless this is one of those English "slang" things).
And his gun!!! He cant even fit his hand around the handle!!!! He is palming it. His thumb cant reach the hammer to cock it back, and if you look where the trigger is supposed to be, THERE IS NO TRIGGER (guess it doesnt matter since his fingers cant reach it anyway),
SOMEBODY TELL HIM BEFORE HE GOES INTO COMBAT THAT ROB FORGOT TO GIVE HIM A TRIGGER!!!

Your concerns are not unfounded, Smashey.
He would not have to work the hammer independantly if the firearms he carries are double action. However, the lack of a trigger is quite concerning because the shooter can cock the hammer or striker by pulling the trigger.
The sidearm that Cable holds in his right hand appears to be a revolver and it is entirely possible that the bore is considerably smaller than the barrel. Revolvers don't eject shell casings as they are fired, so clearly those shells go to that flare gun in his left hand.
I am reminded of a tv special I once saw about the first commercially available semi-automatic pistol. It featured a grip that sat some 90 degrees beneath the slide - they were perpendicular to one another. Modern pistols stick around a 55 degree separation between the two. Nonetheless, Cable's flare gun there looks like the grip angle is quite uncomfortable and unwieldy. I hope that oblong bore is part of a barrel shroud.
Upon closer inspection, I see the pouches now. He's got a bracelet around his left wrist that is made of pouches.
