Happy 4th Anniversary....
...since the Day After the Crash.
Some of us weren't around on the 4th, so, ya know, we had to re-sign up on the 5th of February, 2004.
So, Bro J, Graybola, ST, Dawg, cjv, KC, Tech, Spider and me....Happy 4th Anniversary!
Can you believe it's been FOUR YEARS?
Yow.
And can you believe how many of us were around BEFORE the Crash?
It's almost like....mythology.....

Got here a little after the crash , but didn't sign up until Dec. 2004. What's funny is many years down the road it will be the "Great Crash of 2004".

...oh and I WAS around before the crash.... somewhere.

I think I get on here almost everyday, but only post when I really feel like I have something to say or contribute. Usually, someone else posts first.

Maybe not but this whole noob thing just pi ss es me off quite frankly.Drift wrote:There will be no exposing of NOBs in public thankyou very much.
Its so derogatory and insulting.
Sure i understand the origins of it all but i see is people using it in an insulting fashion way too often and it needs to stop.
I will admit also seeing it used in jokey fashion and i might have my wires crossed when two people might make a joke between themselves and misread it granted.
However when someone who thinks its funny to simply throw it around like they have some exclusive right to something over someone else it irks me.
why would you want to make someone feel uncomfortable about the fact that they havent been around a particular place as long as yourself.
When really you should be using that energy to instead welcome them and make them feel wanted.
Its sad and immature and it needs to stop.
Should i insult and belittle everyone i meet who has collected comics for a lesser amount of time than myself.
No i shouldnt and no i dont.
Instead i leave the patronizing tones well alone and instead take the time to either welcome them to this fine medium or educate them accordingly sharing my wealth of knowledge where possible.
This is not aimed at the guys who i have seen offer new members nice bits like the recent gold editions etc.
Thats all cool and i think its exactly what is required of the seasoned campaigners to welcome the new folks.
So let me say it once more for those who abuse their position.
Knock that sh it on the head as its not big and its not clever.
Nuff said.
