See, if we take the dream at face value, then Unity never happened, and if Unity never happened, then the timestream can't be a mess because of it...Drift wrote:Why are they not considered big enough?I'd aknowledge U2K as an inconsistancy (same for the crossover with Iron Man), but the XO Bike and the dream are not big enough to be considered a result of Unity.
They happened but are inconsitant with the main timeline. So they were part of the broken timeline then?

So if you can acknowledge U2k as an inconsistancy, then it isn't too far of a stretch to acknowledge that there *MIGHT* be a possibility that the Shadowman who died in 99 wasn't Jack, whether through manipualtion of the records or whatever.ManofTheAtom wrote:I'd aknowledge U2K as an inconsistancy (same for the crossover with Iron Man), but the XO Bike and the dream are not big enough to be considered a result of Unity.
If we aknowledge U2K, then that's when Jack died, period.
Personally I'm ok with Jack dieing, but I wouldn't want to hamper VEI's creativitiy by strictly enforcing what should and shouldn't happen before the books are even in production.
This is great fun, but I'm heading to Best But to look for the new Turok dvd. Happy day!

Eh, if we aknowledge U2K then Jack either died fighting VH 2 Darque or was killed a fat guy in glasses.Ryan wrote:So if you can acknowledge U2k as an inconsistancy, then it isn't too far of a stretch to acknowledge that there *MIGHT* be a possibility that the Shadowman who died in 99 wasn't Jack, whether through manipualtion of the records or whatever.ManofTheAtom wrote:I'd aknowledge U2K as an inconsistancy (same for the crossover with Iron Man), but the XO Bike and the dream are not big enough to be considered a result of Unity.

Right, in a timeline without Unity, Rai #0 would be the mess instead of the fix, but since nothing after X-O #1 would have happened if X-O #68 were taken at face value, then this would be a moot point.Drift wrote:and if the timestream isn't a mess because of it Rai #0 is wrong so you are wrongSee, if we take the dream at face value, then Unity never happened, and if Unity never happened, then the timestream can't be a mess because of it...

Is it to hard for your small mind to grasp that the information on Mothergods computer would be far more sensitive then those that the general public would have access to???ManofTheAtom wrote:So you're saying that all other computers were wrong.jedimarley wrote:Geoff was able to access Mothergods personal computer.ManofTheAtom wrote:The same ones that told Geoff about Bloodshot.jedimarley wrote:No. Mothergod's computers.ManofTheAtom wrote:Yes, but Elya didn't, and she got her information from 41st Century computers, not from the 20th Century.jedimarley wrote:Jack did.

And the information she got was 80% accurate. So far you haven't given me any reason to believe that the remaining 20% would be wrong.
Greg was close with the BTTF analogy, but he let it slip from his grasp.

Can you prove that the info that Geoff got came from the same computer that Elya got hers??ManofTheAtom wrote:So you're saying that all other computers were wrong.jedimarley wrote:Geoff was able to access Mothergods personal computer.ManofTheAtom wrote:The same ones that told Geoff about Bloodshot.jedimarley wrote:No. Mothergod's computers.ManofTheAtom wrote:Yes, but Elya didn't, and she got her information from 41st Century computers, not from the 20th Century.jedimarley wrote:Jack did.

I already proved, more than once, that information from the 41st Century about events in the 20th Century was not wrong.jedimarley wrote:Can you prove that the info that Geoff got came from the same computer that Elya got hers??ManofTheAtom wrote:So you're saying that all other computers were wrong.jedimarley wrote:Geoff was able to access Mothergods personal computer.ManofTheAtom wrote:The same ones that told Geoff about Bloodshot.jedimarley wrote:No. Mothergod's computers.ManofTheAtom wrote: Yes, but Elya didn't, and she got her information from 41st Century computers, not from the 20th Century.

So, you see, when Jack Boniface heard from Elya that he would die in 1999,
he built a time machine out of a DeLorean... went 88MPH... and skipped over
1999 altogether to arrive safely in the year 2000... with Einstein, his pet goat.
SO CLOSE, but acting like an *SQUEE* got the better of you.
Try again. You almost have it... it's right there for you to grab
Rokland Tate told the story of the Valiant Universe from "Timeline A"...
SOMETHING could happen to make his timeline fade out,
and a new timeline takes its place... without anyone knowing it.
Jack Dominique Boniface DIED in 1999 in the timeline that Erica lived through...
Erica created the Unity conflict AFTER Jack had died.
Erica's database described a history that was ALTERED by the 1992 Valiant characters.
Those same 1992 Valiant characters were returned to their own time...
where everything had changed without their knowledge.
Jack believed he would die in 1999 because he had died in 1999.
Thanks to that knowledge, he took the right steps to prevent it from happening again.
Not every event was affected by Unity...
some happened exactly the same way the second time.
...but not all of them. This time, "Shadowman" died, Jack lived.
A stitch in time saves nine. Jack was only the first of those nine.

Elya read records from, as you call it, Timeline A. Jack went back to a Timeline A broken by Unity, that when the Geomancers put together became Timeline B, which is what we saw in Rai #0.
So, Elya's records = Timeline A.
Rokkie's story = Timeline B.
