I'm 21 now and a college student. I was 6ish when the Valiant boom occured. As a kid I thought that the art was awesome. My dad collected all of the Valiant universe but of course I never got to read them, they were worth a ton of money then. The closest my little hands ever got to the early valiant books was the trading cards and I loved them. I would sit around look at my cards and try to imagine the stories. I loved the 2 books that I had (X-O Manowar 0 and 21) and I still have them to this day. Anyway, last summer some of my friends convinced me to go the comic book store with them and I asked one of the owners about getting some Valiants. I lucked out and I got the first 20 issues of X-O for a dollar an issue. I have started to collect other titles but X-O is still by far my favorite. After reading the books let me say that the stories are far better than the ones I made up while looking at my trading cards. :thumb:

Greg thanks for the website. It sure is good to know that Valiant still lives.
If anyone can help me with some of the books I need I would appreciate it.

When I was 6, I used to read "Richie Rich" at the barber shop. :D

I got to agree with you when the VE1 cards came out I thought they were the cat's *SQUEE*. I used to slip the cards into my bags with the comic. Nice to have another member.

Welcome and thanks for posting your story. The early artwork is what caught my eye in the beginning too. It stood out among all the other stuff that was being put out at the time.
