This is a story only gods can tell . . .

Hello . . . I am here to tell you a story about Desire . . . an Endless wanting that fueled a young man’s quest for a doomed universe . . .

It all started with a comic fan who thought he knew it all . . one who thought he could spot a good story from a rack of comics with but a glance at the cover . . . a fool basically . . .

Of course the young man had his heart in the right place, but he was wrong . . little did he realize that he was about to embark on a dream like quest . . and a new obsession was about to overwhelm him . . . This obsession would stay with him forever . . . like herpes . .

So this kid had read all the greats from Marvel & DC and from time to time had ventured into the indy market . . . It’s early 1993 . . the kid is fresh out of High School and has a few extra dollars to burn at Phil’s (his local supplier of all things comic related) . . .

There is a big distraction going on at the time called Image . . . he succumbs to the pretty pictures and a lot of his extra dough is tied up in drivel with big breasts and guns only the Incredible Hulk has a chance of being able to lift . . . then he sees a familiar cover of a story he loves . .

It’s shallow but he figures . . “What the hell . . I’ll pick it up .” . . It’s not a great issue . .and seems like a filler throw away issue . . but it intrigues him . . . for some reason he likes it . . . maybe it was just different to see a chubby chick into comics fly and be part of a team . . . He wanted to see more . . .

We’ll take it from here guys . . . so now it’s important to understand a little of this kids personality . . . I guess the best term would be Obsessive . . and it only takes a small push and the whole house of cards will topple . . .

It turns out that the Harbinger & X-O TPB collections would be that push . . . After reading them . . a shocked and stunned Mike immediately added every Valiant title to his pull list and informed Phil to get him anything that was released by them . . he was a now fan.

Little did he know the rollercoaster ride he was about to embark upon . . . and how his beloved universe would suffer a painfully slow and agonizing death . . . He was crushed and left comics for years . . . (this is all true) . . . but it was not his Destiny to be apart from this universe forever . . . That love would be resurrected like . . um . .

. .yea . . . like something that died and is not dead anymore . . . but not in a “pet cemetery” kind of way . . .

The rest is history . . he has gone off the deep end and is a true fanatic . . . and we love him for it . .
